Someone above mentioned that via a basic experiment, simple amino acids have been generated. This is true. But nothing beyond this. Only Basic protiens and acids... a far cry from the complexity of the necessary elements needed in generating any form of cognizant life. Why? Because it is impossible to produce the conditions necessary. Scientists have tried and failed.
That argument was debunked a loooong time ago.

There is no evidence for creationism..not one thing. On the other hand there are countless biological facts that support the evolutionary model.(i.e. the human genome, mitochondrial DNA etc.) all have been influenced and understood through the theory of evolution.

Mimio - Incorrect. Please do the research - there is ample evidence, as I have stated, that life is the resulted of an intelligent designer. Just as many many intelligent and schooled people agree. C'mon, be objective and look what the other scientists have to say.

Before this thread get's shut down... I think I need to verify why I started it.
Christmas is a 'false' celebration of the birth of christ. It's not the birthday of Jesus. Check back at the beginning of the this thread for links - there was a good one showing why it couldn't be his birthday... and more importantly - the real Pagan origin of Christmas.
I'm not some crazed neo-con... I'd just like everyone to know that. :) I am however a christian. I have faith and try to live by it... but don't force it upon anyone.
I DO NOT celebrate christmas - never have and never will as it wasn't a commandment from Jesus in the bible... and more importantly - it's a Pagan holiday based on a series of stories and beliefs from a number of different religions / societies that had nothing to do with christianity.
That being said - my reference to 'Libs' was arroused by the amazing amounts of ACLU activists and the recent 'Jesus Land' commentary from those on the far left during this past election. They have the balls to attack the dominant christian holiday (this is quite possibly a good thing as christmas is 'false').
My real feelings are this:
Christmas is the time of year where everyone comes together and trys to produce 'good will towards' all men.
Well, why do you need a seasonal holiday as an excuse?... even more so now that religion is so blatently rampant in politics and societal celebrations... and is now being attacked by the left in the U.S.
This past election bluntly showed a movement against those who run their lives and politics on christian religious beliefs.... but OH!!! the hypocricy of those on the right!!! If Jesus has nothing to do with christmas... how the hell can they sit there and celebrate it?
... and yet - for those on the left who attacked the right for their fundamentalist christian 'beliefs' - how are they able to move on and celebrate christmas given the fact that it's doused w/christian tradition?
It's a wrotten twisted game - the use of religion in politics.
People are fundamentalists when it suites their needs. People are 'anti' when it then suits their needs. In the end - those types are nothing but self-serving hypocrites.
I guess I apologize for this thread. :) I thought it was interesting the way the left and right are so twisted in being 'pro' and 'anti' and thought it may make a good discussion point. I meant no harm. :)
my title for this thread was based on recent actions of the ACLU... using 'Libs' was probably a little condescending... didn't mean it that way.
I love all you guys... I love coming here every freakin' day w/trigger like reflexes on the 'refresh' buttons... I meant no ill will.

I have both religous (many religons) and non-religous friends and family and I love them all. I myself am not religous and I love christmas. I love christmas because it causes many to act, for at least one day, the way they should towards fellow man for all of their days. I'll take it where (and when) I can get it.
