It happens to everyone.
At the time it happens you think about how bad it sucks... but believe me, everything happens for a reason, and in most cases... it's for the best.
It allows you to start fresh and grow from the experience.Best of luck. Hang in there.

Oh you're THAT dfd.
I got a wrongly addressed letter for you the other day. It said you've got cancer, married a call girl whilst drunk, had two kids and bought a house whilst your were suffering amnesia from that 'melon' incident.

Thanks again NT folks, I'm sure this is the kick in the ass I needed to explore other oppertunities.
I never planned to stay in a studio for more than 4 years. I guess I was so locked in because I got so used to the consistent income.
2005 is a whole new year.
Change is good.

this is why i absolutely love nt!
all it takes sometimes is to hear support and learn to believe that it'll all turn out fine when it comes down. things always have a way of showing their silver lining when you're hit hard.
best of luck

i guess seeing things in writting sometimes really hits home.

you'll be fine - your work is good.

DUnno what your fussing about really - you have major talent. It won;t be too long before agencies are fighting over you.

make sure you go right away to the unemployment office so you can start collecting unemployment checks.
- abstrakt0
or are you in Canada? i don't know how it works there, but in the US of A, they give you free money.
- dfd0
Well ... thanks for the comments, seriously.
Doesn't matter how good you work is, if there's no work out there, in the end you don't get paid.
I haven't really looked for any new jobs in years, so i have to pick up the slack and figure out where the hell to start.
and right now, with christmas coming, i'm a fucking stressball.
the package they gave me sucked, in fact, it's not even gonna cover all of rent/bills.
i just needed to vent. sorry.

I made this a very long time ago ... I never thought, that i'd actually have to bust out the plan B link.

... It comes in print form as well.

dude, if you're seriously worried about not being able to pay rent, go find some quick freelance work. there's TONS of freelance work. Tell the first couple clients that you need to be paid very quickly after the work is completed, or you can't take the job. if you've been a designer that long it can't be hard for you to find freelance work.
- abstrakt0
haha that's funny

Cut yer hair and try shaving you damn hippie. Nobody is gonna hire a long-hair with no pants on!
- dfd0
I took that pathetic mug a long time ago. I can't remember whether I was wearing pants or not in that one snuggles.
I doubt there's TONS of freelance work out there, and right now in Toronto, that shit seems to be pooled up and given to some of the best freelancers right now. No one's sharing.
I've only worked freelance jobs as a part time thing, I never did them to actually make a living off them which gave me a lot of freedom.
This is what worries me. My level of confidence is not at it's best right now.
monster.ca here I come.

Anyways, I think it's time to put this thread to rest.
The other Senior designer is going downstairs in the board room right now with the GM and the Prod Manager ...
Perhaps she'll have a thread on here too, knowing how this fucking place works.
