so you know one armed push up guy... wicked funny.. i saw him 3 times in 3 days...
what abooot the guy that can pop pennies on his wrist? when i saw this guy, i almost puked cause his arm looked like the arm from requiem...i was like..."dude.. .you gotta stop shooting up in the same spot...didnt you see requiem?"

i used to be on that block on the daily.one guy, julian, a crackhead on queen.. a brotha with some skinny ass clash gear on, leather jacket and docs... and some james brown relaxed hair...
hes been on queen since at least 1990.

is there a guy in van like that?... there used to always be this guy at the queen & spadina mc d's in tdot and he had one big nasty dread... would poke out from his tooque... kinda looked his built in pillow.

Been living in Vancouver for a year and a half and don't find it bad at all. I've been walking down Hastings at 1am in the morn on a Saturday, even stopped at a pub and had a beer on one of the shittiest stretches (The Funky Winkerbean) and the patrons were all great and friendly and I met some interesting people.
While it is bad and it is a problem I think half of that problem is us thinking of junkies and treating them like animals or inanimate objects.
I work two blocks away from the park that is infamous for picking up a hit, and walk around all the time and have never had a scary or even slightly unsettling incident occur - and I walk here everyday to work.
On the Toronto/Vancouver difference:
In Toronto they live to work, in Vancouver they work to live. Take your pick. You won't save a lot of money here, but I've never had a better lifestyle with more options of things to do. Especially in regards to the outdoors.

I'm thinking about moving to B.C., My Aunt lived in whistler and it was incredible there, maybe I will go swimming with some sea lions and sharks.
I snowboard, "Ontario Ice" isnt the greatest thing to ride.

again. i love van.. as most do.
if you tryin to make it in some career choice like i am, for me, vancity isnt the right fit... being a freelancer and all. i find it pretty impossible to work there as a photographer.. only a handful of shooters get all the gigs... here is more work driven definately, but when i go to van i am definitely in vacation mode...too many outdoorish shit to do. hard to believe that anyone works at all there... the pace is slower and people only work cause the have to... they definitely dont seem to live for their jobs.i find it hard to catch the kind of cheqs out there that i can catch here. most of the ad agencies creative is done here... that i found out first hand.
so im here. the one client i still have in van cant really afford to pay my fees. so i shoot for butter out of love.
