I haven't lived in Van... yet, but I have been many times.
To be honest I thought Vancouver was a lot more tame city compared to Toronto where I previously live for almost 6 years... that was before I moved.
After being here I have to say Carty is right about the aggressive bums and such... in Toronto its nothing like that at all... its def a problem in Vancouver and it seems to be growing. I was also taken back when people told me to lock my car at all times... after I said I have nothing of value in my car and therefore don't lock it they said its not about thieving... you'll wake up to some bum taking a snooze in your car.
Like I said... I haven't lived there yet, this is based off my many visits and friends who live there. I loved Toronto from the city perspective... amazing place, lots of jobs... amazing shopping (which vancouver sucks for) but i love the outdoors more and Toronto wasn't cutting it from that angle.

Sooke skatepark.. ahhh the memories.
Actually sooke was a great place to grow up. Even better place to leave! The park has huge faetures, but poorly planned in placing them. I would describe it best as challenging, it sure as hell is not for beginners.

the Vancouver crackheads are super chill, not aggressive at all.
i used to live in a 2nd story loft right ontop of E.Hastings.. it was good times. never once felt threatened by the wildlife.
and i know the 1 arm pushup bandit.. he works hard and gets a buck off me everytime.

im not a skater but i bmx and ride mountain... wouldnt know shit about how a skatepark should be layed out..
im pretty good friends with PLG though. if thats any consolation...maybe that makes me kinda cool. he's a wicked cool , i chat him on msn. and hollas everytime he is in canada.. he's from montreal, and now lives in san diego, which i think is now mandatory for all skaters....
