nice..
I think the rarest vinyl I have is South Side Bronx by KRS1

My oldest original 12" is Run DMC's Rock Box (1984)

At least I think that's the oldest one I've got...

But the heart lies with the period between 1990 to 1995. The best hip hop and electronic music was coming out during that period. It was great.
Pete Rock's T.R.O.Y.
Need I say more?
- ronaldo0
totally agree prophet
were you into Hyro??
I got some good Casual and SOM singles
- prophet0NE0
Are you joking?! I was the hugest DEL fanatic back in the day. Brother Geroge was dope but No Need for Alarm was so sick and still reigns supreme. Totally slept on but the non DJ crowd. The beats on that album give me goosebumps.
I guess it was overshadowed by Souls 93 LP. Which is the same calibre.

I have triples of the No Need for Alarm LP, have the 12"s and have bought two cds over the years. Classic.

The only other artist that gets me that stoked is Pete Rock and CL Smooth. In love with that sound...
- ronaldo0
ah man.. Del.. Remember the stand up bass loop on Catch A Bad One.. so sick
ya, Casual was overlooked by most too.. his solo album was brilliant
- ronaldo0
have you had a chance to check out MixMasterMike's Bangzilla?
good stuff
- prophet0NE0
I'll never forget the feeling I had when I heard and saw that for the first time on Muchmusic. It was braaand new the day I saw it on RapCity.
And the That's How It Is vid by Casual. I don't know what it was back then but that shit was just so dope. The caddies rollin into the park at night and the out-focus-lens work, and the Hiero logos spinnin' back to back on the 12s...
Memories, man....
** Other people are probably reading this thread and thinking what... the... hell(?)...
- ronaldo0
this sounds snobby, but I cant' really get into hip-hop these days because in my oppinion it comes nowhere near to the stuff I used to spin. none of the beats are near as complex or original, and the MCs... man, who are these clowns?? this may sound harsh, but I'm a little bitter... was looking forward to the evolution, but we're in a downward spiral.

you bastards are making me feel old!!!!

Another thing from back then that had me stoked were the guest artists and fly girl spots on In Living Color. They had Pete Rock and CL on live and the fly girls would shake ass to the latest reall hip hop tracks, it was the best. I still remember (because I taped and watched it 300 times) the girls bustin to LONS's Trains Planes and Automobiles or PE's Nighttrain, Can't Truss It, etc.
Also, I was stoked on the chubby chick in the Cross Colours Jeans - a lesser known Jennifer Lopez....
