after many years dedicated to improving and expanding my musical understanding i've made the decision to close my ears again. all music and musicians suck except what i like.

This is their job. To make a living off of playing music for others. I guess once it is no longer about the music then okay I'll concider them sellouts but if they make a commercial and it's great, funny, memoralbe whatever. Just let them be.

Actually I've had many bands. Put out Cd's and toured. Music is my passion. Don't care to get famous or rich. I do it for the music.

you have to sell out to a certain extent to be a musician, i mean you have to want to play to an audience or else you may as well strum to yourself in your bedroom. my former bassist told me he only wanted to make art for himself and we quickly fired him to free up more time for him to play with himself. i guess it's a balance between having a vision and convincing an audience. sound like politics? that's the music industry. you have to be slightly arrogant to convince an audience as well as fellow players, and to stop yourself becoming the mushy equivalent of a musical cloud, so i'm sure algo is an ace player.

Something about selling out is bad, fucking puppets to someone else "hey make money for this guy" ESPECIALLY when you talking about hip-hop. Some music is simply a voice of a people, its more than sound, its a cultural product where your all bla bla bla stuff.. umm, forgot what i was saying. there's a fine line and stuff.. if iggy pop was this and that, i lose respect for someone fronting an ad campaign totally, i'll still like their music but will lose resepct for them as auteurs - . mean i love Britney Speares song slave, but no way am i gonna respect her as an artist or noffink. Do an ad, and i'm like, ur now culturallly irrelevant to me. because its obvious they're dancing to someone else fiddle... stream of consciousnessses keep it real, money is hard to resist, in this confused world where do you draw the line? stuff AND stuff.
