you have to sell out to a certain extent to be a musician, i mean you have to want to play to an audience or else you may as well strum to yourself in your bedroom. my former bassist told me he only wanted to make art for himself and we quickly fired him to free up more time for him to play with himself. i guess it's a balance between having a vision and convincing an audience. sound like politics? that's the music industry. you have to be slightly arrogant to convince an audience as well as fellow players, and to stop yourself becoming the mushy equivalent of a musical cloud, so i'm sure algo is an ace player.
