the white spot frames the screen- like a matte- whatever- picky picky picky- they got to hide all the insides somewhere man-

i like it and it will prob sell tons...
... just saying it seems they could have made a better use of space with that.
1. if you can even mount the thing to a wall.. you gonna have a hell of a time with the cords.
2. ther e is no up and down movement now... so you are stuck with the screen starting way high... if you like it low.. you are screwed.
3. That front kills me still.. looks just like the emac.
Over all I think they made great steps making the G5 fit in there and making a nice all in one unit. But i think, as always they messed up on a couple of things that could have made it great.

i don't have time to read through all 70 of these responses, so I'll just say what I think right here and now. IT'S A LAPTOP ELEVATED BY THE METAL POST. They say it's 2" thick... which is the same width (a little thicker than most) as a laptop including it's screen. Apple just removed the keyboard. Look at it! It looks like a laptop with the screen covering the keyboard. Apple finally got the point on prices, although you'll have to sacrifice a lot of performance to pay their lower prices.

on second sight i like the old G4 imac a lot more. my father has both the 20 and the 17 inch and working with them -moving the screen etc.- is quite a pleasant experience.

I think apple is loosing it.....
I have new ipod and I have to say third generation was much better design I mean I have both and old one is much better
And new imac.... its not perfect :)

ah hell, it looks glossy, I was hoping for a matte finish. oh well.
i think the large white area has some of the cooling essentials behind it. airs pulled in from the bottom, through the speaker grills, gets cooled, then shots out hot from the top.

the back comes off in order to get into it.

i agree with DonV - why the clumsy white area at the bottom? couldn't they have used that space for speakers? or SOMETHiNG?!
and as for the gray wheel on the 4g ipods, its fucking WANK! i want an all-white 5g ipod with click wheel!!!
