all-in-all pretty well, I burned a bit of it, because I'm a dumb-ass and forgot that I was cooking it, so it was crispy, but the ingredients were great.

cooking is just plain sexy in my opinion.
my wife has gone back to school, this time for elementary education. she's in class until 9 many evenings - i enjoy cooking up something for her to come home to.

I cooked a huge pot of chicken and sausage gumbo last night and I set it on the back porch over night in the cold.
Uuummmm. Gumbo.
Damn, I wish I would have brought some with me to work.

It's more tradition than anything to set it outside. Sitting in the cold makes the roux and all the other flavors sink deeper into the meat. Also most refridgerators aren't big enough to accomodate a gumbo pot.

that was my ahhh... it's all over denner the day after the show. usually i take in a 35/45/20 diet. (protein, carb, fat)gruntt-
it's all over. i placed 5th. so i got my top five. on a personal level i am very pleased. on a show level i didn't do some things i should have, and took some bad advice and didn't come in at 100%. i was holding a bit of water that i just couldn't get out. all in all i'm happy with 5th place. thanks for asking.

I grew up watching my mom and grand mother constantly cooking up down home, cajun meals. No recipies, mostly the basics of a dish are handed down and then everyone kind of puts their own little tweak on it.

actually my gf did. i remember telling her to pick up a degiorno (sp?) and somehow she walked in with a home run inn... wtf?!? i ate it anyways. not bad. first time.

I think they originated in a pizza shop in Chicago - thats why I asked. They are pretty good though.
