No, it isn't a platform where you can argue your point. It simply allows you to vote for a candidate who also brings up that point.
But candidates don't campaign on these issues unless there is pressure to do so first.

A good friend of mine is a pastor's son.... he is very religous. His uncle is gay and has a live-in boyfriend.... My friend hate gays but loves his uncle and goes to visit him often... funny huh?

Gay marriage doesn't hurt anyone. To state that a homosexual person doesn't have a moral conscience is simply arrogant and hateful. I don't expect any better from the religious folk though, anyone that joins a cult who's beliefs condemn others to perpetual torment has clear emotional problems.

why not require a surgery for marriage. a surgery such as making a man be able to get pregnant or a woman produce sperm.

MrDB- yeah, I only do what I can. I vote and talk and read. You would legalize gay marriage and I wouldn't. There are many people like both of us. At the end of the day, it is people who represent us who make up the gov't. And that is where it will be (legally) decided.

why don't they just institute the full civil union as they have in france? all rights equal but not necessarily labeled "marriage". why does one thing have to be changed to accomodate something else and piss a lot of people off?
and btw, this country is about freedom OF religion. not freedom FROM it.
