here in massachusetts, homosexuals have been allowed to marry for a couple of months now. Surprisingly, the earth hasn't split open, the sky hasn't turned dark as sackcloth, and nobody has turned into salt pillars.
It's hardly news anymore. Also, nobody's tried to marry their dog or an ice cream cone, as was predicted by those opposed to it. The state was worried about losing revenue from well-earning homosexual couples suddenly drawing married tax rates, but so far so good.
What's the big deal? If you're against gay marriage, don't have one. The only thing that gets violated in this situation is a select group's belief that they should have absolute sway over other people's behavior.

abortion and gay marriage have become traditional conservative talking points. It's how the conservatives bamboozle the poor christians in the bible belt to vote republican. Like the republicans care about anyone that doesn't have inc as their last name.

Froww, how does my arguement, whereby cause=effect, lack logic? You have tried to elevate the simple issue occurence of cause=effect to a Divine and vague state, as religion always does.

hrmm. it seems to me (from your first post) that you think a gay marriage is automatically short-term, non-mAnogamous, and awful.
You could say the exact same thing about hetero marriages.
It s sorta like saying this apple is red, therefore its good. This apple is green therefore its bad and should be banned!. they are all apples in the end.

Mimio - the concept of empty religion was spoken about long before Webster's or Roget's. Just read Jesus' teachings.
Pretty sure that was before the dictionary... anyone... just me?

* sigh *
I got married in a chruch...because if we hadn't, my father-in-law and mother would have probably had a heart attack.
Did I feel like a hypocrite? Yes. Do I care? No.

Hey Jevad! How was the rodeo? Did you give in and get some boots?

I think Jesus' portrayal as white has to do with the whole King James thing and when the faith was being spread across europe. Jesus was a Jew....living the middle east...clearly, he was of middle eastern decent.
