my website is unfornuately umm... dead, well in need of ressurection actually. To see some of an example of my work go to:
www.bose.co.ukThe main graphic has changed, they update that all the time. Also check out the automotive section my stuff is there too.

a wall...no
a desk...no
a book...yes I owned it though
a tree...nochalk washes off with water they don't need to pour new concrete over it...idiot

even if I had, it wouldn't make it right. If I did do something like that I was wrong to do it.
I have made other mistakes in my life that have affected others property and for those I was wrong. I can admit that...
I was also punished for it.
I have since grown up and move on

oh but good lord you expressed yourself un an unsanctioned surface! how will you sleep tonight?

first photo is from yesterday: a Graffiti Removal Unit in action in West London.
2nd photo is from 2 days ago: a site of political graffiti in Rome that has been in active use since 600 AD. The stuff you can see in the photo is poetry and witty rants about Berlusconi, and his corruption and control over the media. 1400 years ago the site was used to criticise the papacy.

I'm not saying spraypainting is always used especially meaningfully, but it has roots as an alternative means of expression for those who feel that the official channels don't listen.

bose.. kind of high profile. kind of low-pro site...

and your high profile sites would be...
Your attempt at discrediting my opinion on graffiti through attacking my design makes no sense... and is childish. If you can't discuss the topic of this thread without crying you should leave the thread...
Why don't you attack my education too dumbass.
B.A. Visual and Graphic Comm.
M.A. Media Ecology
M.A. Graphic Communications Management and TechnologyWhat are your credentials. Why should people listen to anything you have to say more than what I have to say.

hmm, graffiti do brings the worst in people... :P

I agree, however, that doesn't make it right. But I see your point. It is a shame that too often it's a third party's property that becomes the canvas...

i guess i chose the wrong words. sorry to have you tear up. i meant that it was simple, not bad. maybe the functionality surpasses that? i don't know, i didn't stay on it to find out.
i don't care about your degrees. wow, you have more experience than me. a lot of people do - i'm still in school. but all you're sounding like my parents - saying "grow up" - and my little brother calling me a "dumbass."
i never said anything about people not listening to you. your credentials show that you're obviously schooled well in design and implementation, but your comments reveal that you know nothing about graffiti: "and no, i have not done graffiti research, just common sense ." i have been talking about the thread topic all day long... and probably one of the more educated views on the subject.
i believe you've done a bit more crying than i have... "blah blah Oh Boo Hoo! "

as a former graffiti artists im not chocked to read your oppinions.. id like to think of graffiti as a way to decorate you city.. giving it life.. giving the dull ugly grey walls life -
i gave it up years ago because i didnt want to go to jail - unfortunatly the law says that its illegal to share your creative mind with other people.. most of you guys dont see it as a beautifull thing, but just "kids" running around having nothing to do.. now that im looking back on things ive done when "bombing" i can see that its wrong. a least some of it.. there is nothing more beautifull than a well done tag - try to find a good one, and take your time to study the lines.. you will be suprised!

-----that's true. but it happens. it's part of graffiti. i thought you were just 100% against all graffiti because it's not art?

(aug 2 04, 12:43)see that's the beautiful democracy of the interweb. kind of like the democracy of graffiti as opposed to the corpocracy of consumer driven graphic design. Your credentials are in the work you do, people can dis your work, appreciate it or try and do better

oops, sometimes I get a little defensive... sorry about that. You are right, I do not know much about graffiti, nor have I claimed to. I don't have a problem with it if it is done legally, I can see the artistic potential in it, and as I have said earlier, I have come across various works of graffiti in NYC that have been positive for the community.
But with any medium it can be abused, and far too often the abusers, who may only make up a small percentage of the population, ruin the medium for everyone by causing property damage etc.
Graffiti is not all bad, it is not perfect...it is what it is.
again sorry for the overreaction...heat of the battle type stuff.
