I can still remember that first day I had those 17 inches of aluminum sitting on my lap. I guess I don't have any exciting stories... but this machine sure has helped me work abroad... from the heart of the Canadian rockies... and it doesn't get much more exciting than that.

exactly, this was one of the big reasons for me getting one.

Well then you're in luck. With the 17" screen its fine for use as my primary machine.

yeah, i didnt really need a laptop that big though. so i went with the 15"
got a monitor ima use for dual display anyways.

I have a 12' and it's like a digital swiss army knife. It does everything.
(It only crashes when I do insane things like downloading 50 things at a time while running a VPN and using GarageBand!)

I have a 15 for my on the go life. At home I connect it to a 20 inch monitor for the extra production space. I also have a wireless keyboard and mouse so I dont have to touch the pb all the time.

I got a 15 a while ago..
the 17 kinda looses the purpouse of being a laptop computer, like somebody said earlier, you can always plug it to a monitor at home/office, to get dual screen, and when on the run, its portable..
If I where you, i will get either the 15' or the 12', both are awesome..

I got the 17 about three months after they released it, a little work horse, I use it as my primary print machine.
I stuffed the 2 gigs of ram in it and did a tradeshow that the file was up too 2.27 gigabyte photoshop file, the PC wouldnt even open the file, the mac chugged away and saved my ass....
I too run it into a 20.5 LG flatpanel, still in love
