I don't understand your point. I'm telling you that both these pieces of legislature were introduced by liberal Democrats, and neither has a Republican co-sponsor, so if there is a draft why don't we shove our collective foot up the people responsible for introducing these bills' ass? I don't see what Bush has to do with any of this, and the liberals who picked up this story act like it's some kind of right wing conspiracy no one knows about, when in fact, if you do some research, it's Charlie Rangel who started all this draft talk BS.

that's basically the point. republicans don't want the draft because no one would've gone for this dumb ass war. get it?
as it is right now, people don't care enough about it to make a big stink because it's being handled by people that are getting paid to do their jobs. this is why the draft was done away with in the first place, the money interests that benefit from these dumb assed wars are the republicans. the last thing they want to do is have to convince a bunch of people (IE the draft) that an imperialist war (IE Iraq) is worth fighting for. it wouldn't work.
that's why I am FOR the draft, as is Chomsky and Co. on the left. Because it would force the imperialists in our society to really have to present good reasons for war instead of just clouding everyone to the point of complacency like they did with this Iraq shit.

But it's just stupid to play a side like that. What do you think Abu Grahib would be like with a bunch of draftees running it? What's with this Imperialist shit too? Is it wrong to try to help people being oppressed so horribly. Are we the only ones entitled to all of the freedoms we have? You act like we have a patent on democracy and freedom and no one else should have it. First it was Blood for Oil, and it's funny how France and Russia had the biggest supply contracts in Iraq, and it now costs me $2.44 for fucking regular. Now I guess we are the "Evil Empire" donating billions of dollars in foriegn aid to other countries, trying to spread the freedoms we take for granted to those who don't have it as good as us, always trying to help out when we can. Why do you hate your own country so much?
