what/where/how would you tell your boss you want/deserve a raise as you are actually working extra hours and creatively manage the 2 top accounts in the agency?
be serious and creative!!!
thanks in advance! cheers

just gotta be straight up and ask, make your point clearly and dont get aggro.
I actually also refused to work OT unless I was getting an OT rate.
*cue cheesy VO:
"because you're worth it"

dude, if there is one thing i've learning in my 29 years of existence it's this.
IF YOU DON'T ASK YOU DON'T GET.
state your mind.
"sir/mrs. i believe it is time i asked for a raise."
state your reasons.
"i feel it is time because..."try to stay away from words like "deserve, or else, you fucking dickhead, gimmie" stuff like that.

I agree with rasko4. I work with a designer (I am copywriter) to lay out a catalogue, we both do overtime on it, while I get paid double time he doesn't get anything. Because I say to them, no double pay, Mu will not make the typey typey. If you don't ask for it, they take it fro granted. On the other hand, it shows you are a hard worker, so they should give you a raise! Good luck!

don't ask for a raise, ask for a *salary adjustment*
do a little research on salaries in your area, chances are you are underpaid. and citing a salary adjustment affords you the wiggle room of requesting more than the standard 4-5% raise.if that doesnt work, do the fight club office scene on him.

*makes obligatory reference to sexual favors in exchange for a raise...
*makes obligatory statement about giving boss a "raise" in exchange for a raise
now for the serious, come up with a list of why you deserve the raise, and a few legit sources that show standard salaries in your area for what you do... if that doesn't work, ummmm i dunno what you should do.

you can threaten him by telling him you might have to leave the company due to the fact that you have finally received an offer from another organization for more money and see his response, within 20 seconds you will know how shit sits. ;)

actually BonSeff is right, do some leveraging not comlpaining. If you can use detailed data to support your endeavor then be smart about it. An 'adjustement' sounds nicer than 'raise'.

take a few randomn days off in the space of a couple of weeks. Even try to take just mornings and afternoons...a classic sign someone is attending interviews or quite ill. If you can try to get interviews see if someone will make you a job offer yr interested in.....then polietly explain that the salary & worload isn't balanced and another agency has recognised the work you do and offered you a move.?

Check Salary.com and the Aquent Salary Survey. I don't know why because they are never right, but check them anyway.

ha I like Brendan's advice, make them think shit

Does anyone know of any reputable localized salary indexes, preferrably online? Even hourly rates would be cool.
