Burned by friend/client!...advice?

Ouch. Sorry to hear, man. Without a written contract or any consent it would be difficult to have them "take down the site".. Live and learn.

i got burned just the other day. not my friends, but friendly people. I threatened to take their entire site down if i didnt get paid, since i had access to their server. not the best plan, i know, but sure pissed her off. and that made me feel good.

thanks chocodog...yeah all of this has left me feeling pretty guarded about who I work with and how serious I have to be about contracts etc...the thing that really irks me about this, aside from getting treated like this from a "friend", is that the company that the work was for is so huge...oh well...lessons learned i guess...

I've been trough that too, not with a friend but...
I 've let an advocate (a friend of mine) write a letter, not completely true what was in the letter, but they were afraid of it and paid the bill.
