harass the company. make your "friend" look bad by association. send them "cease and desist" letters. call them. be a complete stubborn fuck. call everybody there.
don't be demeaning to the people at the company, be polite but be persistant.

yeah...I will keep up the fight on this one...I see it as a personal insult as well as poor business practice...plus it was for a nice chunk 'o' change from a huge company...I never had a problem with him before, sometimes people just snap and become asses...

Tell you friend that you found an attorney in his country who is a family friend to chase the matter up.
Do you some of his other clients? Politely let them know that he's dishonest.
Don't worry about him being your friend - he's already closed that door.

Im located there man. The Hague actually. I have had some peeps recentley who said they did not have the money to pay me. I sent some friends there to his place, and for real: they kicked his ass. No one could prove it was me, but ive got my fucking money know.
