Did anyone see the photograph yesterday of the bodies hangin? I was wondering what you thought, was it out of line for the NY Times to print that?
- DutchBoy0
it's the truth.
is the truth out of line?
- spaniard0
nope, it was out of line to hang em' from the bridge though... have they showed the film anywhere in the states or is it censored on all channels?
- Dita0
link?
- DutchBoy0
i have not seen them though, but have read a lot about the commotion around the publishing of images/footage.
i can't believe this has to be censored, it's incredible that anno 2004 there's still a censor in press in that country of "the free"..
:/

I saw the footage on our news.

lots of nasty shit goes on, they just happen to catch this one
- spaniard0
dutchboy - they were all carvered up...
- woodyBatts0
Censored here, no films. A brother of a victim was just on CNN.
Sorry no link, i'll try to find one Dita.

spaniard, i understand it is shocking, but they can either broadcast it late at night or partly use censoring (pixellation of certain parts?)
but they should not completely withhold this from the public, esp. not with upcoming elections..
but that's just my 2c.

Nice to get a international perspective, I just thought it was indicative of how things are going in New Ameriraq.

I'm interested - have i missed something here? tried BBC news and I can't see anything.

There was an attack on american "civilian" securtiy officials in Fallujah, they grenaded the car, dragged the bodies and strung them up. A photograph was on the front page of yesterday's new york times.
Also the miltary said they "temporarily lost control" of fallujah 2 days ago.
- Dita0
OMG! that's horrible

http://www.informationclearingho…
this is uncensored.
- spaniard0
Yep, that's good - 'temporarily lost control, 'Sorry, I just temporarily lost control of my foot and kicked you in the ass'.... have they permanently regained temporary control now?, or temporarily regained permanent temporary (assuming they're planning on leaving) control?...
- woodyBatts0
Funny they just mentioned, under very muttered breath, "we have lost control of Fallujah", then they broke to a commercial.
- spaniard0
ha! what was the commercial for? 'temporarily lost control of your trouble spots? try new definitleycivilian® security solutions, you start it, we'll secretly wind it up'...

I think it's kind of political. In a climate where more and more people are being sympathetic to the Iraqis, (not necessarily to the violence against their occupiers, but to the fact that we shouldn't be there) it's a political move to garner anger and hatred against them. "See, those Iraqis are animals!" that kind of thing. And it did it's job, I'm against the war but I got fucked heated when I saw that. It's also sad that people can still act like that to another person.
okay, I'm off the soap box
