Mr_Jump,
Speaking of the Netherlands, I Lived there and in Germany and experienced Anti-semitism and racism first hand.
Having also lived in the US (from 98-2002), I find there is much more tolerance there, eventoward Muslims right after 9/11 than in Europe. Still, European politicians do wish to please Muslim voter in their countries.
BTW, just because I didn't agree with you on some facts, does not mean I do not agree with you alltogether.
Yes, there is a strong Israeli lobby in the US. But it's natural that countries that share goals support each other. Shiraq didn't have problems calling Saddam a 'friend' when it served French financial interests. Nor did he hesitate to renounce him when it was convenient. Bin Laden's goal are as imperialistic and impure as George Bush's. Iraq is his not more of his business then it is America's—he just used it as an excuse to bomb Spain.
Like many other Israelies, I think Sharon is a malicious corrupt leader. Like many Israelies, I suspect that Arafat is no different.
People outside the region should support and promote the groups in the region that want peace. Pointing fingers at Sharon or Arafat won't help, they thrive on the conflict—it helps them stay in power.
Instead, support the Israeli-Palestinian Geneva peace initiative—that is what they are really afraid of.

No Americans do like people over there. Jews, Palestinians, Arabs. But w do not like a man that ordered suicide bombers to kill our troops. My cousin is there. Lots of my friends have family over there. Do you think I am mad that a man who called for suicidede bombers to kill US troops was killed. Not really. DO you think that I car that Israel killed this man that is responsible for ALL sucide bombers that kill innocent jews. I am not.
It may have been a cheap shot for sharon to do that, and also kill a few innocent palestinians, but Im glad that man is not alive.
Ever seen the movie swordfish? I like the US's philosphy in that movie.
You blow up one of our buildings or kill 100 of our people. We wipe out tenfold of your people. Extreme but I think it gets the point across. Terrorists need to stop fucking around and accept peace.

"Accept peace or we'll kill you"
- 187LockDownNice logic.

you live by the sword, you die by the sword.
he knew the Israeli government had an assasination order against him.
and now I'm sure Arial Sharon is the most wanted man in the Middle East.

Dutch Boy, my city and most cities in America are like the UN. Neighborhoods all over the city with all different nationalities and cultures. I live in a second-tier city too (Milwaukee). If you live in an American city you have to be pretty tolerant. We don't have a homogenous culture like alot of other countries.

Do the Israeli people know they're being kept in a police state with a perpetual state of emergency that is used to justify everything, even when it contradicts the PR-op talks?
Does anyone actually believe the Likud party wants peace? It seems rather obvious they don't, or they wouldn't keep provoking suicide bombers.
Sometime in the next week a bomb will go off somewhere and they'll say "well, now we have to crack down some more" and round and round it goes again.

I think they're all science fiction. My 2 cents.
L Ron Hubbard is my prophet.

I'd love to agree with u. Support the peace makers and ignore Sharon and Arafat. But 1000 pounds of TNT is hard to ignore. They need to be condemned. Both Sharon and Arafat are feeding off the violence. But Arafat is an irrelevance. The Palestinian authority has been decaptitated. There is no one left to point the finger at on the Palestinian side. You think peace has any chance in that region? I dunno. Call me cynical, but there's an ideological issue with the very nature of Israel (both a theocracy and a secular - often socialist - democracy) that is an antagonistic presence in the region. I dont see how, unless Israel fully secularises and accepts that there are many different ppl of different faiths living in the region, who have EQUAL claim over the same land - that there will ever be peace. Maybe that's an option too hard for Israeli's to bear. I know it's an option that's too hard for large groups of Palestinians to bear.
