"I'm sure all the Arabs are same to u... "
-- Mr_JumpWhat an ignorant statement. You automatically lose the argument with this one.

argh!
can we jsut agree that this was a fucking stupid thing to have done - call Sharon and his cabinet a bunch of cunts, and then move on? please? this argument about land rights is SO TIRED

To everybody here,
I didn't see any response when earlier this week 9 Israeli civilians were killed by a Hamas suicide bomber sent by Yassin.
Not that this makes killing him a smart or even a legal thing.
Mr_jump,
European Jews didn't have much of a choice and kinda had to leave Europe after 3/4 of them were killed by Europeans.
There was no state of palestine when they moved there, it was part of the ottoman empire and later under British occupation (yes, my parents grew up under British occupation).
The people of the west bank and gaza were under Jordanian and Egyptian occupation until the war in 1967.
Having said that, many Israelies oppose the occupation.
Blaming one side is not going to solve the problem. Pressure must be on both sides.
Go to http://www.seruv.org/english/def… and support people who really want peace—and see what real zionism is about.

Truman don't know shit. Plus - who invaded who in 1967? To my knowledge it was the Israelis who took the West Bank and the Gaza Strip and the Golan Heights as a "security measure" to create a buffer zone between them and the Arabs - land which they said they'd eventually return once they make peace. And oh look, Israelis are building houses and settlements there, and a big wall that's gonna take in large parts of this land...Don't believe the hype.. .there is such a thing as historical truth.

I would put you on ignore, but the depth of your stumbling logic is too entertaining.
- Mr_Jump0
No ones supporting the terrorists or Hamas here. And no-ones saying Yassin was some courageious leader. But u gotta look at the reasons this happened and Israeli policy. To say this was simply an ignorant and stupid thing to do is, in my opinion, to miss the point. All i'm saying is that it's a provocaion. And as far as i can see that's been Sharon's policy since he came to power.

"I think the message is crystal clear ... you want peace .. act peacefully. If you want destruction ... keep bombing our buses and children.

(mar 22 04, 10:28)"Israel's birth is [also] connected to Zionism terrorism. The bombing of King David Hotel, the British military headquarters in Jerusalem in July 1946 is a 'good' example.

There's obviously no strong desire for peace on either side.

"All i'm saying is that it's a provocaion."
I agree with you here. But, I think that is the point of the attack ... to draw out the players and eleminate them. Sharon made his move ... good or bad ... and now the next chapter in a long long book begins.

Strange thing. You could see a wave of violence going now: France, Israel, Servië again.
What will this spring bring
- loudubs0
and i think...no, i know, just as we Americans will make the right choice in November, in time, the Israelis will make the right choice about who and what party is going to set the tone for the next decade. right now, it looks like total war, because we must not forget the basic stupidity within the DNA strand of all humankind.
- IamFerris0
Hamas has said that 'the Gates of Hell have been opened'. If I lived in Israel, I'd try to get my ass out of there asap. The USA had Sept 11th, we had March 11th... Seems like now it's the turn for Israel. Sharon's stupidity has no end. Very bad move...
- solmo0
I said france but I meant spain ofcourse
stupid me
- gabriel_pc0
Hasn't Hamas said something along those lines at least 3 or 4 times before? Doesn't seem like there was ever a time that there wasn't some part of hell either opening or avenging.
- Mr_Jump0
There are many many Israeli's who want peace, and want Israel to withdraw from the occupied territories. And many Palestinians who are willing to accept a 2 state solution with a Jewish Israel. But then there are those who wish to annihalate Isreal and those who wish to annex all Palestinian lands.
To hold all Palestinian hopes of statehood and emancipation hostage to zealots of Hamas/Hizbollah/Al Aqsa is to punish the son for the crimes of the father. All over the Middle East and Asia there are terrorist networks striving to overthrow legitimate and illegitimate governments - including Saudia Arabia which has the most to fear from Al Qaeda. The point is, life goes on. The machinery of a state doesn't stop evolving simply because there are those unctrollable ppl who bring nothing but hate.
What concerns me, and why i'm most angred by todays news of the assasination of a terrorist leader; is that the Likud party has consistently shown a lack of resolve to make peace. Likuds record has been simply to undermine firstly the Palestinian Authority - which leaves the Palestinians with no legitimate representatives - and secondly to provoke the terrorists. The perogative is with Israel. By such actions hatred amongst the Palestinians is hightened, as is fear amongst Israeli. It leaves me to believe Likud does not want peace.
