Hasn't Hamas said something along those lines at least 3 or 4 times before? Doesn't seem like there was ever a time that there wasn't some part of hell either opening or avenging.

(mar 22 04, 11:30)Of course they have talked about vengeance before, but they never faced such a situation. Israel's murdered their founder and leader, a saint as far as they're concerned...

Both sides are guilty as sin. And the comman man is the victim.
As long as they have religion over there, they won't have peace. They can't have both.

there's no trace of any common sense to be noticed there..
An act of infinite stupidity.

Oh fuck it. Everyone go watch Eastenders.
- mrdobolina0
Whatever Eastenders is. You can't compromise religious zealotry. That is why a separation of church and state is always the best policy. At least then there can be a debate.

"Everyone go watch Eastenders"
"Whatever Eastenders is"
lol
but seriously, my thoughts are with the PEOPLE of Israel and Palestine..............

Unfit,
There was terror. But comparing it is manipulative.
The scale was different (a few acts over many years not every day for years and years), and more than 90% of the Jewish population opposed it. So much that they gave away the leaders of the NMO (Etzel) to the enlightened British, which, by the way, hung them:
Meetings were held between Haganah and Etzel leaders, where it was made clear to Etzel commander, Menahem Begin, that the Jewish institutions would not agree to a continuation of terror, which was sabotaging their political initiatives. Begin, however, refused to end his organization's terrorist activities.
Following the assassination of Lord Moyne, the leaders of the Yishuv decided to cooperate with the British by turning Etzel members over to them. Members of the Haganah submitted lists containing names and addresses of Etzel members and even participated in their capture. The period when Etzel members were pursued by the Haganah is known as the Sezon

Has anybody heard of how all "Holy Wars" stem from "David and Goliath"?

david and goliath is a fairytale.

Israel could have taken some initiative by ending the OCCUPATION of Palestine territory. This is no war on terrorism, this is, in essence, a conflict over territory with deep roots in religious arrogance.
There would have been a peace-process, but it takes 2 to tango. Each and every person on the Palestinian side involved in the terror on Israeli ground (and abroad, see the Al Qaida network) keep repating it is their response to OCCUPATION by the Israeli's and the resulting suffering by the Palestinian people.
The constant and endless reference to terror, not in the least by the US govt., does not look for the issue at the root, and the way things are going now, and please, yes, mark my words, will lead to harder, bloodier conflict on larger scale.
There's a great chance we are still to witness retaliation of unparralelled horror.
Bush should go, Sharon should go.
It's not about terror, it's about a process to find ways to solve the occupation problem.
It's is all obvious now that Bush and Sharon are bloodsucking mindless creatures of unmeasurable blatant ignorance on this subject.
They are putting fuel on the Islamic fire of rage.

what we all tend to forget, and much of the time consciously reject, is the growing threat of right wing Christians and right wing Jews uniting over some 'prophecy' that demands the rebuilding of the "temple" in Jerusalem to make way for the Second Coming of the Fascist Christ.
It is beyond the boundaries of social progression (which Im sure most Israelis are for)
- loudubs0
it is the puppetry of the White American Jesus Ghost, rising up to shake out wallets and privately masturbate to suicide bombings.....shooting it's load from Utah to Mars...
- DutchBoy0
That is so true, loudubs.
Religion and state-affairs should be separated unconditionally.
Bush is a rightwing fundamentalist Christian, so is our prime-minister, so is the current Secr.Gen. of the NATO, Jaap De Hoop Scheffer.
They are far from taking a neutral political point of view.
Any leader who refers to ANY God I mistrust, for he is not there to help mankind, but only find justification for his falsified interpretations of centuries old stories written in books that have 'holy' status.
ignorance, blatant ignorance.
i am pissed.

Interesting thread.
Just realise that the palistinean people are not al Quaida and they are just dead tired of the fascism projected on them everyday as in making them wait for hours when they're on their way to work and have to cross the 'Security Perimeter'
Shalom!

the name of the Israeli foreign minister currently visiting the US.

its funny how so many israelis are against their government. many have demonstrated and placed their bodies in front of bulldozers. the wall reminds me of berlin with a south african twist. it's a shame that the u.s. is allowing israel to oppress palestine. i thought hitler was supposed to teach you a lesson, not pass it on. power to the peaceful.
