I bought ps2 just for Metal Gear
I bought Gamecube just for Zelda
But I never really considered the xbox.
Graphics-smaschics. Sure, the graphics might be good, but then again how about just using your own computer as a gaming-system instead (consider buying a pc if you're on a mac for gaming)?Some thoughts:
- It's just as ugly as the xbox
- It's faster
- It can probably play dvd's (but you have a dvd player for that, right?)
- It has more games then xbox
- In most cases it's free to play online

Obviously it's going to cost a bit more then an xbox.
Good side is: you can use the pc to do other stuff too besides gaming. Use it to make a website for someone. Ask for -money- in return.
There's you're 220$ + the money spend on your pc

good lord this is still going? i have both and play both... i end up playing the xbox more. can't say much about the game cube though.. never even messed with one of those. it's all about what sorts of games you want to play. pretty much every game that comes out on ps2 now comes out on xbox as well. Both are a good choice in consoles and you'll have fun with either.

I'd go for a gamecube mate.. it's the cheapest and has the best games in my opinion.. Zelda, Metroid, Soul Caliber II, Mario Kart (playing online with the warp-pipe is awesome fun btw) .. I only play GT3 on PS2.... never played Xbox but it does look horrible.. and that controller eeeuch!

"true crime: streets of LA" for ps2 is great.
it's awesome being able to drive to my school, favorite clubs, friend's houses, etc. in a game.

I have both, but my choice will be the ps2, better graphics, (waaay better) faster, I like the controllers better( I had ps1 too so Im used to them) there is waaay more titles for this console too (and lets not even count that you can still play your ps1 games) It plays dvd, and its free to go online, no microsofto corporation fees for something that is free, you know?

I HAVE HAD BOTH SINCE THE DAY THEY WERE RELEASED. I USE MY PS2 EVERYDAY LITERALLY. I USE MY XBOX 3TIMES A MONTH. XBOX ONLINE COST$, PS2 ONLINE IS FREE.,
BASICALLY THE XBOX HAS ALOT OF BENEFITS(IE HARDDRIVE, MORE POWERFUL ENGINE) BUT NOONE IS DOING ANYTHING EXCITING WITH THEM. THEIR PRIMARY CASH COW HALO HAS BEEN PUSHED BACK OVER A YEAR FROM ITS OG RELEASE DATE.
FROM WHAT I HEAR THE GAME IS DONE BUT MICROSOFT DOESNT HAVE THE SERVERS READY YET. SHIT LIKE THAT MAKES ME SUGGEST A PS2.
