it seems to me that alot of designers skateboard for some reason. hm. does anyone here skate? and where?

wish I could, too clumsy and would break my skull.
Love the sport though and admire all who can do it.

don't really skate anymore unless you count the ocassional kickflip shove-it in my room...my body can't handle the bails anymore.
i just cruise the on the soft fluffy white stuff now.

used to ride but i have several friends who still skate regularly. a lot of artist types in the skate scene.
i too traded in the wheels for the snow. concrete seems to get harder as i age. icey conditions aren't much better though.

every monkey with a board calls him/herself a skater these days.
just like every monkey with a computer calls him/herself a designer these days.
all brought to you by the world of subculture commodification, aka the western world.
even so, there is something nice about using the skateboard/keyboard to get away from The Man, and then to (accidentally?) become The Man.

new school? I'd have to disagree. plan b came out in like 91... he'd been skating all of about 5 years??? that's not new school. I've been at it since 87, i consider the whole plan-b era the funnest time in skateboarding. a lot of progression, and not anywhere near the amount of hype around it that exists today.

skating since a variflex splash in '85.
not so much these days tho :(
