Just bought the DVD. Its ace. Better than all that nostalgic crap thats out at the moment. The hives, the strokes, the the's, the datsuns, the Darkness,The white Stripes, The Music, the wat the fucks?.

I just watched part of the DVDs last night at a party, so I had to get the CDs. I'm not even done listening to them yet. I loved Zeppelin growing up but because of all the lame "classic rock" radio, I got tired of them.
This live stuff totally got me back in the loop. Thank God for this group. One of the handful of best bands of all time.
How many bands can you say that all the hype is totally deserved?
Beatles, Zep, Dylan, Miles Davis, Chuck Berry, Clash, Nirvana, Pixies, ...?

although your right about the other ones, especially Pixies, but maybe not Nirvana, there were too many other ones that sounded like them at the same time and the Foo Fighters still do with the same exact basslines. lol!

I think Dave Grohl is a great drumer, but the Foo Fighters is sort of like Rage Against the Machine after Zack left. (Audioslave), only much worse.

they were the Radiohead of their time... well, actually that's not true, because if it wasn't for Zep, Radiohead would not sound as they do today, er rather, music would not sound as it does today...

Stairway to Heaven in copyright trial
Led Zeppelin founders Robert Plant and Jimmy Page must face trial in a copyright row over the song Stairway to Heaven, a US court has ruled.

They really shouldn't pay full price on this one. It's just the acoustic guitar that sounds the same. The only thing is a mere fraction of Stairway to Heaven money is quite a pile of cash.

One of the greatest songs of all time "house of the rising sun" made famous by the animals has no author. It was played by tons of musicians and nobody ever got credit for it.
I think when Zeppelin started out they were exposed to old time american blues, some songs were traditional songs passed down from musician to musician as well, and perhaps there was nothing in place to let them cross-reference ownership.
They definitely put their own spin on things though, heavily borrowed or not.
And I think they did credit Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters, Willie Dixon ect as sonwriters
