Vena what is your view on file sharing music? Is that as bad as sharing fonts? Both are illegal.

Sorry Wena, i'm a student and unfortunately i don't have a couple hundred bucks to shell out when i need some new typefaces or software. If you can't survive as a type designer then do something else. I don't remember a time when it WAS a profitable way to make a living, do you. When did anybody get by on just making fonts. Come be a part of reality. Spend your energy not hating so much Wena.

Oh come on, have a sense of humor. Certainly that's nothing to get offended by. There's a high level of seriousness these days on PV-AN. I have toned it down tremendously here in the past few months, and NOW i get threatened? Ya'll need to chill, we can't even have a passionate discussion anymore without getting flagged. I think we're all adults here and can handle a name or two, christ. (oh no, i'll probably get a flag for this)

Shouldnt these discussions make a distinction between legitimate trading (or selling) of legally-owned fonts, music etc and illegal sharing?

Cool down boys. I think everyone have good points. Nice fonts are expensives and I often wish more of them was copyleft. Free fonts are a nice concept when you are junior or broke...
However if you make money with it, try to be respectfull and share the love with people who do great work...
When you see the © or when the moderator ask you not to share fonts I respect it (most often).
Now, hope no one get flagged after having a serious discution in PV-AN.

Sorry, I'm confused... Was someone planning to share fonts they dont own, to give away fonts they own, or to trade/sell fonts they do own?
