designnaked...gottal love the bwahhahaha's. funny as hell.

anyhow, why is the biggest complaint from PC users that Macs are overpriced? If ya can't afford a little bit of cash for your work machine then maybe you oughta be fliippin burgers at the Dairy Queen.

wearing briefs lowers your sperm count? who can confirm this?

are boxers more expensive? it's a common assumption that they should be as they are made with more material, or are they thinner?

  • unknown0

and on PC u can play some games from 2003, not 1996 ;)
and u get the latest video card , not radeon 9800...
    etc et c

  • unknown0

hehe boyintrnet i 'm with u on this one :
when u see that they dare ti compare FPS on top notch G5 with ... quake 3 ?!!! come on Mr JOb, this game is 5 years old Sir !! wake up.. now u know kids are playing with more.. realistic stuff : like Unreal Tounament, wich is more of a reference for frame rate.. ;)

but again : you 've got a lovely radeon 9800 with your 4000 $ g5 : wow !! how nice is htat ! i wish they could give u the latest 256 mb n vidia.. but they don"t..

    game over
this aluminium oven case is ugly.. really

boxers all the way, I prefer cotton though, then they don't slide up past your pants sometimes.

jocks are for sissys and homos.

  • quik0

    nVidia cards blows ass.
    ATI are more professional.
nVidia made drivers that cheated at benchmarking scores.

    How lame.
    Like this thread.
    PC's are nice (sometimes)
    MAC's are always nice.

I have a PC, I want a MAC, I still want my PC.... but will NT people come along and steal my cotton boxers if this happens?
    aaarrfgggggggghhhh!!

shut it, shut it, lock this mudderfucker away!!!

hey honda... do a search for a DELL Precision 650 with simular specs to the new G5- I'll use these:
    A Dell Precsion 650
    Dual 3GHz Xeon processors
    512MB RAM
    40GB and 120GB drives
    4x DVD+RW drive
    XP Pro
    56k modem
    no monitor
    64MB nVidia NVS 280
    internal speakers
    Sound Blaster card
    3 yr warranty

    ___________

And your total cost is $3822.00. But Macs are more expensive arent they?
And look at all the work that went into the Precision's quality case. Look at all the work that went into making sure your software talks to each other and to any other computer around with a click of a button. Macs are expensive because -------
    A. they are a smaller company. (A pound a ham is more expensive at the local mom and pa shop than it is at a Supermarket).

    B. Because the same company creates the OS, applications, and hardware. Researching and employing hundreds of Developers, Beta testers, Engineers,...etc. Microsoft makes the OS, relys on Dell and the like to study the hardware, relys on Developers to make sure things work with the OS, and PC computers rely obviously on no one to add personality and design to their products thus saving a million dollars with the "Whatever if its cheap they will come" attitude. Its not arranged to work seemlessly its arrange to work- if there is a problem call tech support or hire an IT guy.

Break it down and see what Microsoft puts into developement, and Dell puts into engineering, and what all simular software you get with Apple puts into there departments than add up all those numbers and it will still be less than Apple spends to make sure that we have a great computing experience.
Plus it most certainly is also the Usuability of the OS above all. I would much rather work on a slower G4 tha takes 15 more seconds to render a video clip than spend hours trying to figure out how to tweak things in Windows. hell the little pop up windows in Windows OS wastes valuable time per day. I love the fact that I can start my computer remotely via VPN,open photoshop, run an Applescript that will process 85 50MB photos and shrink them to thumbnails, then close Photoshop, and FTP them to my server, and send am email to me confirming this has been done... all the while I am at a coffee shop 300 miles away from my system. Yeah its geeky- but it took literally 15 minutes and a free download to do. Its things like this that make it worth wide.

  • quik0

you can really do all that shit with apple script?

well, I'm selling my pc to the ghetto family down the rd and upgrading.

you must live in a ghetto if you have to use some kind of loan to buy a computer bwuahahhaha

only smart people can handle a pc anyway

    bwuahahahahahbwuhahahaha

y'all mac user can suck my stiff pipe and swallow my man juice

i actually had to have two windows open to reply to this thread.

first, kbl, i mentioned earlier i made no plans on making this personal. so brining myself down to shit tossing would be asinine. but thank you for illustrating a point i will bring up in just a second.

interesting how you speak of usability. most pc users find a windows environment completely usable. to say you have to pay for this kind of research is absurd. countless hours of usabilities studies and market research all account for what you see today on pc's.

the ability to make a product that can fill the needs of the broad consumer is the market where the pc fits well. ballooned pricing over such things as "R&D" and "usability premiums" is fatuous. linux was and is based on open source, creaed by a guy that has a second job, maintened by consumers, and by early next year will surpass apple in total sales. linux is ultimately the tool to fight against the machine. but none seem to take that route, why? cause its not about exclusivity or the rare medium; its about looks.

if you are serious about "fighting the power" and usability get a linux box.

    + ----------------------------- +

going to a point someone made about price, i have a pc here at home. amd xp1800 512ddr 2 40gb drives (both ful btw...time to backup shit). at this point, i have/do work on a G4. it is slower than mine. much slower. from photoshop to flash to just browsing through the web...slow. ah, but this same machine cost 2/3's more than what i paid for mine. all together, with monitor: 1300. upgrade to 1gb of ram and i have spent an extra 100+ dollars. all totalling to a machine far more capable of handling my workload than a low end man that is more expensive and less compliant.

    + ----------------------------- +

you;ll be hard pressed to win the argument of "reverse snobbery" considering the posts from most mac users. none ever use the language of "its a great machine, try it" but more so lash out in a sort of vindictive manner as to justify the ididom "pay more, expect more...get less." there has never beenmention of the fact that pc users feel elite. quite contrary friends. it is the apple market that spawned this debate and subsequently is the one firing off the rockets of insults and defamation of character.

the point is dollar for dollar in this week economy apple needs to change is strategy. when it comes to cost, pc's are cheaper and linus is damn near free (pay a few hundred bucks for a full box or just download and set it up for free on your own box). asking for more on a base G4 than what a comparably equipped and cheaper pc is the fundamental flaw in apple's universe. pricing dictates. value is relative when the dollar is powerful.

ask honda, that's why their cars, bikes, lawnmowers, chainsaws, et al all operate at the higest possible efficiency, raise the bar on persormance, offer virtually the same perks as more expensive products but cost hudreds and sometimes thousands less. empowerig the masses, without deflating the wallets.

    + ----------------------------- +

enjoy whatever medium you choose. lets be at peace and shake hands as brothers of the same clothe from designer to designer, developer to developer and respect the choices we all make in order to make great work, regardless of what OS we choose.

    peace friends.
