Hi ,
i got a client who wants a fancy but very class bizness card .
He wants it to use the normal format , but instead use maybe cool colors/ink (gold, silver ? )or material .
I said ok .
He talked to me about some transparent plastic card that he once saw . is that possible ?
The price isnt a concern for him.
He needs these card to present them to top fashion clothes designer .Any suggestions ? im a little bit short on time and dont know anything about print really much , and i dont have time to visit all the print show and ask ... ill try to take one day off and go downtown see a couple of shops but the time is really tight.
Really appreciate help . thanks.
Btw im in mtl if you know some good print spot.

Call a printer in your area and talk to them...they'd be happy to charge you for fancy printing...plus if you know nothing about printing, you'd be better served to have someone (like a printer) help you figure out the best paper solution too.

you should check silkscreenprinters and get some info about colors/materials. If you want to print on plastic you have to use silkscreen...
good luck (sounds like a nice assignment)

use thicker paper than normal?
140 lb? 200 lb? 10,000 lb?plastic papers (printable)?... they're a bit flimsy though
gold/silver foils look cheasy to me... maybe I just haven;t seen them doen right... but you can get some cool effects by screening a spot colour over one of those metalic pantone inks...
varnishes could be cool too.
you could always try to source some interesting materials... maybe a thick rice paper, or some like, handmade paper stuff made out of like, dried maple leaves in resin... the world is your oyster.

Here take a look at these:
The are the same plastic material as credit cards. You can buy white blank plastic cards and take them to a shop that prints plastic ID cards. They are most likely to have an Eltron Printer or a similar one that prints high-quality color on those cards. I bought the latest model of that printer for my european company and they look simply amazing. The blank cards are not that expensive but printing will probably cost you 2-3 bucks per piece.
Hope this helps.
Cheers.
