here's a nice sweet marinade that really tenderizes the meat:
1 teaspoon grated lemon peel
1/2 cup lemon juice
1/3 cup cooking oil
2 tablespoons green onions with tops -- diced
1 clove garlic – minced
4 teaspoons sugar
1 1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon prepared mustard
1/8 teaspoon pepperusing a garlic olive oil instead of cooking oil works really nice for this too

anyways, if you're interested here's the marinade i ended up going with:
4 teaspoons whole peppercorns
1/2 cup bottled steak sauce (i used heinz 57 steak sauce)
2 tablespoons dijon mustard
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon saltthen i added lemon juice and worcestershire sauce as well as some 4 peppercorn steak spice and some extra peppercorns to give the marinade a nice textured look.
i also added 2 cloves minced garlic and 3 chopped green onions.
