  here's a nice sweet marinade that really tenderizes the meat:

  1 teaspoon grated lemon peel
  1/2 cup lemon juice
  1/3 cup cooking oil
  2 tablespoons green onions with tops -- diced
  1 clove garlic – minced
  4 teaspoons sugar
  1 1/2 teaspoon salt
  1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
  1 teaspoon prepared mustard
  1/8 teaspoon pepper

  using a garlic olive oil instead of cooking oil works really nice for this too
