Terrorist . The New Nazi

Well Sapphire... Yes and no. Theorically speaking nazis and communists are totally opposite, but in the practice, almost any communist government out there has acted pretty much like the nazis (Stalin, just to name the "biggest commie shot" killed most probably more people than Hitler, but as long as he was on the winners' side at the end of WWII his crimes didn't get "too much" attention. You know, winners write history, no matter how lame they are). Communism as an idea is far better than nazism because it's not based in such inhumane ideas as race war, but communist/socialist theorizers failed in considering one thing: human beings are not "angels" and power will corrupt almost any men/women, so when it's time to transform ideas into facts, totalitarism will show, 'cause in the end governors will forget about the ideals which lead them to power at first and will only care about their own (and their families, friends, etc...) asses, doing just about everything in their hands to stay in command. Sadly enough, such uthopies as communism are just there as "beautiful" concepts, but they will be hardly successful. Shame on the human race... But hey, communism was/is necessary. This kind of ideas/concepts (even when they're uthopic) are always necessary and good, they're the ones which help mankind to evolve and fight unjustice. There's a long way to go yet tho, specially in this times we're living right now. Some bastards have brought back dark times, our freedom's being attacked, and something is needed to be done. Public opinon's voice has been dismissed by those in power. Fuck them! We're the People, they're nothing but evil bastards. May they all burn in Hell...

good points elektro, but i think Sapphire was just trying to keep the distinction in beliefs .. as with terrorist subject, the language has been blurred and manipulated to confuse people. Many people believe the Soviet Union and Russia are the same thing ... when the USSR was actually a large number of countries. The same for communists and nazis, people don't distinguish the differences between previous US opposition .. they just lump them all into one category and call it a day.

The same is happening right now with Saddamn and Osama ... some 60 % of Americans believe that Saddamn and Iraq was directly involved in September 11th .. when that couldn't be less true. The Administration has blurred the distinction between Islamic Fundamentalist and Socialist Dictator ... Osama has called for the muslims of Iraq to rise up and overthrow Saddam on countless ocassions, but the Bush administration would hate to admit that the US has a common enemy with Osama Bin Laden, so instead they refuse to educate the american public, and just allow the speeches from our president to blur the lines and allow American hate and desire for revenge draw their own conclusions.

yawn with this stuff jeeeeze let it go

  • ribit0

    Re is it terrorism?
Blowing people up at checkpoints while pretending to be a civilian is illegal, according to the conventions which are aimed at protecting civilians...

It's OK to decieve the enemy, even dressing in civilian clothes, but illegal to use pretense of surrender as they have... because it endangers civilians.

it seems to be working for him

It's more like the new communist. Though terrorists are a danger to society, they've been pretty useful as an imaginary reason for the current administration to get what they want. Really, one terrorist attack in how many years isn't much.

  • pugdawg0

    Imaginary reasons?!!!!

One terrorist attack ever is too many you dipshit Redmond!!!

As soon as Canada has a 9/11 then come back on here and spout your ignorant propaganda you dumb shit mushhead!

Friggin Prick! You are an insult to the 3000+ that died on 9/11!

    Oh and one more thing...

    FUCK YOU ASSHOLE!!!!

let's start some more namecalling here.

it's all hatred, hatred and revenge, tooth for tooth eye for eye policy in this world.

I just dream of a US president who breaks with this culture of spreading fear and hatred and more of that medieval diplomacy.

it does not make the world a better place.

i say it once more, the more i read into it the more i am convinced the US government is FAR from a benefit to the progression/positive evolution of the human kind.

9/11 was horrible. but Bush has the same destructive way of handling a crisis as Sharon.

Both of them should receive the opposite of the nobel prize for peace.

    OUT.

(and stop the namecalling, thank u)

yeah pugdawg ... infantile rants and namecalling doesnt really accomplish much. if you have an opinion and you are passionate about it fair enough, but why resort to useless swearing .. it only beings down the expectations of intelligence from you.

And as far as redmonds comments .. i think hes speaking about the patriot act and maybe patriot act 2 soon .. feel free to read up on them and their countless violations of civil liberties here:
    http://www.alternet.org/story.ht…

And as far as the 3,000 innocent lives lost on September 11th, I dont think Redmond was trying to downplay the tragedy at all ... stop blurring what was said with what you think was implied. If you look at the rest of world pugdawg, you can see that ratio of lives lost to terrorism to actual citizens living here is as almost 1 percent of what it is in many countries in the Middle East and Africa. Was the attack on 9-11 tragic and horrible yes .. but the typical American attitude that when it happens to US makes all the more important is the very reason why the rest of th world sees us as egotistical and selfish.

Millions die under the boot of terrorists every year, but the 3,000 that died in NYC have gotten far more global attention and mourning that any other attack in the past 2 decades. Don't belittle life in any form, regardless of their geographical location or religious beliefs, and dont romanticize the deaths of Americans as more important and tragic than any other.

  • mrdobolina0

    well said JS

  • Redmond0

I didn't mean to downplay 911. Just saying, the point of terrorism is to scare people into doing what you want them to do with treaths, and that's pretty much what the good guys are doing now. "If you don't give this to us, you'll get attacked by terrorists." Granted, they have to tighten security, and stuff has to be done, but will terrorists really attack the us because of it's freedom of speech? What's left if all your rights are gone?

  • Redmond0

I didn't mean to turn this into a victim contest. I just meant that the US is pretty safe compared to many countries and I don't see the reason for it to punish it's own citizens. Of course a strike back is called for against terrorists. But you can't assume everybody is one.

  • Redmond0

Really, I am sorry if it sounded like I was disregarding the lives lost in the attack on the twin towers. I wasn't.

  • unknown0

WORD, js_ :) No worries Redmond, we all know what you meant, it's just immature kids like that pugdawg who don't really understand when reading. Such a shame, and such a sample of all the illiterate, blindly patriotic idiots out there nowadays, all of them courtesy of Bush admin's "idiotization" program ;)
