ahmed... look, yes there are conspiracy theorist out there that tote shotguns and chew tobaco and fit the worlds view of your average American redneck to a 'T'.
but the point is, we are not all like that.
- ahmed0

Quote from mitsu
""If you like what the administration is doing so much why don’t you join the fucking army."
is the same as
"america, love it or leave it"
things like this shouldn't be said"
Now I have to say this.
That is a REALLY STUPID comparison.Use a little common sense.
- jevad0
yadda yadda yadda
give it a fucking rest you lot
- ahmed0
jevad, if you want to give it a rest, don't participate

its true that america did wait 2-3 years before helping britan/europe out. But they were quite busy giving us massive loans to buy in supplies from them, and some say they only joined in at the last minute because there was a chance thier loan wouldn't be paid back f britian was conquered.
And i've heard that from a few different sources. So why are they so keen to start war now?
- unknown0
well aside from motives, is it not true that millions of lives could have been spared if they had intervened sooner?

"Now I have to say this.

oh, i am... just because someone backs their government doesn't mean they need to grab a gun and go to war.
where is the lack of common sense there?
- unknown0
i guesse my point is:
if it was profitable not to go to war with hitler back then, then why would they. Presuming all wars are mostly for economical reasons, then it must be profitable to go to war now. If they couldn't afford it, would they still go to war?

the 100% peacemonger is as bad as the 100% warmonger. both are extremely unrealistic viewpoints.

i'll subscribe to that magazine.

right on mitsu, I mean noone really wants their nation killing others, but to think that all of the worlds problems can be solved without violence is extremely naive.

vent2 - regardless of whether it is / was profitable or not, my question is - would US intervention 2 years earlier have possibly saved millions of lives?

"noone really wants their nation killing others, but to think that all of the worlds problems can be solved without violence is extremely naive. "
I don't think it's ever been tried before on a worldwide scale. And I know problems can be solved without violence. Didn't you learn that in the playground? Haven't you learnt it in your professional life? It's called compromise. A horrible word I know but better than violence.

actually wouldn't it be funny if the USA got Saddam and then just left the region. The rest of the people in the world wold be so pissed at the precision.
- mrdobolina0
the compromise was for saddam to disarm, twelve years ago and stay in power.

ahmed
