why do you live...?

....where you live.....
I just got back from holiday and am wondering why I didn't stay where I was. It was hot and sunny. It pisses with rain here, its cold, Tony Blair is too busy on his crusade to worry about the country (it wasn't much better where i was with his bosom buddy bush doing the same old "everyone hates us (US)") and it all makes me wonder why i haven't packed up and shipped out.
So what's your plus points (and minus) to where you live so I can see if it might be nicer where you are.

southeast USA (alabama, mississippi)
PLUSES:
beautiful scenery
good fishing
warm weather + sunny
GREAT foodMINUSES:
rednecks
rascism
only a few good art jobs
general lack of intelligence due to lack of education.nice place to visit and things seem to be better now than they were 10 yrs ago... but still the rednecks need to be thinned out.

we have decent design
we dont have earthquakes-
we have cack weather

plus points for canada...
1) most people seem to like us
2) we get along just fine with the rest of the world
3) if countries were cartoon characters...we'd be charlie brown
4) everybody likes charlie brown
5) best beer in north america
6) best maple syrup too (had to put that in...folks here dont actually use it all the time, but the way we export it, you'd think we were guzzling it like cheap wine)
7) super low crime rate, and pretty high standard of living
8) several consecutive years on the charts as the best country in the world to live
9) thriving graphics scene...(depending on what city you move too)
10) MULTI CULTURAL!!! everyone is representing here...
which means a ton of world class looking guys and girls (depending on which way ya swing) -wink-
11)the US film industry is now parked in Toronto
more stars per square inch here shooting movies, than anywhere else..bad points for living in Canada
1) it's really really really cold here in the winter..
2) its' like a bastad offspring of england, france and the US...
we're a little like all of em....but totally original in that way...
5) my math sucks
6) lotsa other silly reasons why you might not like canada...but the cold and the snow pretty much cover the worst of it...
except for the killing humidity in the summer...
oh my god it sucks...
I've seen peole from africa and india say 'holy crap...i thought it was hot at home!' after an august here in toronto..hope this list helps...
oh..
one final reason...we're not likely to declare war on anyone, ever, for as long as we live...
which is nice..
i mean..
c'mon..

Utrecht, The Netherlands
Pros:
- 40 hour working weeks and 5 weeks vacation
- Great museums
- You can say whatever you like. (rant, be rude and curse!)
- Great cultural history
- Total anarchy :PCons:
- Rain...
- Bad service
- The Dutch always complain! Mostly about the two reasons above.
- The Dutch cuisine stinks.If you are really thinking of moving here, read "Undutchables". Hahaha.

well I live in Edinburgh now...I am sooo bored with the place, its full of neds and I hate neds!!
I used to live in a place called Dingwall near Inverness and the plus side was:
fresh air
peace and quiet
local pubs (really cheap compared with the cities)
my mates still live there
downside:
its boring
transport is crap and expensive
there is not much to do but have kids and get married (in that order)!
