read this in M.Moores book, did some research, was 9/11, war in Afganistan, approach to india and pakistan, Iraq, all about Enron?
conspiracy I know, but a good one

wouldn't say it wasn't.....

michael moore is an ass, plain and simple. he has a long history of making up statistics, fudging facts, and distorting issues to fit his own skewed way of thinking. he is exactly what he claims to fight against, and it's all to sell you a product.
- unknown0
fair enough, but some of the facts seem irrifutable....
Enron
Cheney
Taliban
Oil
US Forign Policyall seem inter-connected to me
- jevad0
shame to think you hear that mate - because he seems to be the only high-profile american who ever talks any sense....
Admitedly he can be a bit melodramatic and over the top, but at least he's doing something to change things over your way.
- vena0
jevad - do you know how dangerous an ideology that claims the ends justify the means is?
here's a decent examination i've posted before: http://www.galun.com/misc/season…
- vena0
and just remember - there's a big difference between talking sense and telling you what you want to hear.
- jevad0
thanks for the link - pretty interesting.
"but he is provoking thought about [an] important topic[s]"
- vena0
you should have pointed out that what you just quoted was used in the article as an example of his defenders' willingness to accept the dangerous ideology mentioned above.
nothing does damage quite like a wacko with the backing to make everyone who disagrees with the right look bad.

the most valuable aspect of bowling for columbine was its thought-provoking aspect and the idea that he tried to go a bit deeper than simply saying 'guns are bad'
it's a shame, however, that his homework was shoddy and vaguely manipulative.
- jevad0
"the most valuable aspect of bowling for columbine was its thought-provoking aspect "
exactly.
- unknown0
what would you say if I said theat all the links eminate from the US, and therefore would slate his views anway...?
anyway I didn't want to turn this into a MM thread more, that because Enron and the US were duped in the Middle east, its pay back time?
what you think?
- vena0
the amount of "mistakes" in that movie go a little further than being /vaguely/ manipulative.
even george bush provokes thought. only with him, we hold him accountable for his lies.
- unknown0
forget MM, I think he's small fry in comparison to whats going on now....
- vena0
i dunno, if we take over iraq, then i can save money on gas and donate it to more charities.
(see how quickly the ideology breaks down?)
- jevad0
"even george bush provokes thought. only with him, we hold him accountable for his lies"
dubya vs. MM! You can't compare your supposedly democratically elected president to an overweight mid-western political figure!

"i dunno, if we take over iraq, then i can save money on gas and donate it to more charities"
good reason to kill people then?
ok what im getting at is that I recon that the US want to doninate the region, for financial reasons, and wont stop until the do, as they wont let Russia, cant let rrussia dominate the area
- Buckyball20
and you don't think the British are going to benefit from this king?

it may have som incorrect things in it. but it helped here to understand you americans from another side. moore showed people with respect, even if they are weird. my 2francs

russia's been out of the picture for a few years now. the area is in no threat from russian domination. though france, germany, and russia have financial investment in iraq, and both their motivations for opposing war and america's motivation for going are financially motivated.
the problem with iraq started when saddam tried his hand at ethnic cleansing. what the majority of other western nations (oh yeah, btw, america's not alone on this one) then did was take that opening and run with it. destabalising the middle east has been the long term goal of the western world for a long, long time. you can find its roots in the crusades if you want to really dig.
