first of all I think it's useful to distinguish between anti-Semitism and anti-Zionism. I have nothing against any ethnic group but rather with the politics of Zionism and the justification for the creation of a Zionist state at the current costs.
The current situation can be squarely place at the feet of the Israelis. If someone threw me out of my own house and offered me the back yard to live in I wouldn't be happy either. There are still refugee camps. Where are they refugees from?
It seems to me that this whole situation could have been avoided if when the Zionists took over they had treated their enemies better as when the Allies defeated Germany and Japan. They are some of our strongest allies now because we didn't make them suffer after the war.

can you enlighten us on what countries had the political will to create isreal after the WW2?
yes, teh same countries you extol for their virtues of "Fairplay"
- toolius0
yes brian, it is the Zionists not the Jews who are the problem.
and yes moondoggie, it was the UK and USA who decided to make Israel a state. Notice how that is when the Jews and Muslims stopped getting along?

It disturbs me when I hear people supporting Palestinians and spewing off quotes from ridiculous media sources like CNN or Fox News. Educate yourself on the history of a topic before defending one side or the other. The Palestinians or should I say (Arafat) has rejected a Palestinian State many, many times when it was offered to him claiming not enough of the land of Israel was put aside for them. It is a VERY clear fact that the Palestinians will never be satisfied or accept statehood until all Jews have fled Israel and the state can be claimed as their own. It is a ridiculous notion to think that will ever happen.
The media you read is from “parachute” journalists who have been dropped in the middle of a war that has been going on for decades. They have no understanding of the situation but to film armed Israeli soldiers firing at so-called “innocent” children. These images are registered in your mind and therefore you side with them. Israel has shown amazing restraint towards the Palestinians. Palestinians bomb Israeli civilians, they target innocent women and children, their intentions are too kill as many as possible. Israel on the other hand -- have very specific targets from within the Palestinian people that are known terrorists. Any other country would have defended itself in a much more aggressive way by now, especially when their neighbors are terrorists and their leaders are known killers.
This debate is useless, because so many of you are close-minded and are afforded the luxury of watching the situation from the sidelines as opposed to having almost all your family in the Middle East. With the slightest of research anyone would learn that the Palestinians would not have any civilized utilities or services (i.e. water and sewage, police and security, construction materials and so forth) if it were not for Israel. Keep in mind even the neighboring Arab states have murdered and kicked these people out. I am bored of this topic, I am bored of how naïve you all are.

i'm just fucking sick of turning on cnn, and hearing about another sucicide bomber. and they stretch the suicide bombing stories out for lik, a fucking week. but when the isrealis do something, fk! it'll be lucky if it gets on that little ticker at the bottom and scrolls away while no one fucking notices.

you guys have no idea...
I don't see too many Israelis trapping bombs to they bodies and walking into schools, discos, stores, or places of worship. Do you?
- Brian220
WW11 isn't an example of fair handed nations but rather individuals that took thought to the problems that could arise from their decisions. Taking revenge on the Germans after WW1 directly led to WW11.
Maybe this approach wouldn't have worked. There's a lot of religious fanaticism on both sides. But maybe instead of leaving the Palestinians in refugee camps for the last 50+ years they and we had helped them they wouldn't have such a deep seated hatred of us.

bob, i don't see too many palestinians using tanks to destroy entire israeli comunities.

after you get past all the diagreement about whether one side acted more savage than another, it comes down to this...it's a savage situation that is becoming a salted wound because of one plain and simple obstruction...religion, BUT, if those who claim to be "spiritual" would simply consult their so-called religion, they would find the keys to peace and long lasting friendship. dna would prove this brotherhood. but then you look at a cackling arafat and the monster that is Ariel Sharon, and you wonder, is this for real?
- bob0
Israel has not take preemptive strikes at innocent Palestinian communities.
Instead after a PLO sponsored terrist blows up 15 innocent people. The police similar go after the people that publicly took responsiblity for the act.
That may destroy a compound full of Hamas leaders and family... but the tank only fires after the people had a opportunity to surrender.
You see the palestinians want to fight to the death. They choose death or life.
The Israeli dead were not give the choice.
It is war and only one side is playing nice.

CL brings some wisdom to an otherwise silly thread.
- Brian220
It was nice of the Israelis when they kicked the Palestinians out of their homes to provide construction materials to build refugee camps with. Best way to make friends.
Seriously, what would you do? I wouldn't blow up coffee shops. I would fight back though, with the intention of getting my own back.
- toolius0
First of all there was relative peace among the jews and muslims for decades BEFORE the US and UK got involved. FACT.
You say the palestinians bomb innocent civilians and the isralis target ONLY the terrorists??
Then why do they bulldoze and ENTIRE village of familys to get 2 or 3 terrorists???
Why did they TODAY destroy 60 shops belonging to the palestinians??? where they all AK47 shops?? I think not ...how will the people depending on those shops live now?
IT IS A INTERNATIONAL WARCRIME TO ATTACK CIVILIAN POPULATION and that is exactly what the ZIONISTS (Sharon) have been doing for decades. Yes the palestinians have been pushed to the point of resorting to suicide bombers but the MASS GRAVES IN JENIN were created by STATE SPONSORED MILITIA. supported by ISRAEL and the US.
and you say Arafat could have a country if he would have agreed at camp david.
So if somebody came into your 2 story 4 bedroom house and told you that you can have this house if you only use the kitchen and one bedroom. what would you say?
Israel continually for decades has been grabbing up land illegally (against the UN) and tells Palestine they can have their own land if they accept was is left.
Bullshit.
- bob0
The PLO was offered 99% of all their land back during the Clinton Meetings a couple years ago.
The PLO refused.
They do not want the land back.
They want death for the Nation of Israel.A little more history.
The only reason Israel has what the PLO would call "their land" is because the Palestinians went to war with Israel not over land but to destroy the poeple of Israel in the 60's. Israel defended themselves and in the process drove back the agressors and place defensives up to defend agains the attacks we see today.
- Mal0
stop it.
- bob0
Really before anyone takes sides on this issue, they should be informed by facts not bias oppinions.
- Mal0
STOP.

"drove back the agressors and place defensives up to defend agains the attacks we see today"
so Bob, creating settlements in this newly acquired land is defensive? seems kind of like an invasion in reality.
