I'm gonna stick UP for online dating here - or meeting people 'generally' online. With programs like messenger (or via emails) you can talk to that person for hours and hours about shit that you'd never talk about with a lass in a club.
you get to know a lot about that person and their views etc.so technically 'if' you do ever end up meeting or going out with that person you shouldnt get any nasty surprises.
when you think about it - when you meet a girl in a club or a pub you are only going on appearance and general chit chat.and i feel that it is just 'another place' to meet people - like a pub/club/supermarket

never met a girl that i dated online, but ive made some fantastic friends.
as a matter of fact, some of the coolest folks i know i have met on NT. haha.
my friend has met 2 psychos and one slut and one decent girl online, but it is all long distance so he rarely sees the decent one or the slut anyway. but hey, whatever works for you. i cant say anything bad.
just look out for 60 yr old men posing as 16 yr old girls. cuz it does happen. seriously.

I dated two women off matchmaker.com once (I remember when they were still an incredibly popular multi-city BBS doing this sort of thing back in '92) thinking they'd have honed their art by now enough to where I could separate the psychotics form the rest of the population.
Boy, was I wrong.
Thankfully, by the time I felt the urge to go on another date, I'd met what who is now my future wife at a party some mutual friends were having.

i tried it once a while ago and got mauled virtually. out of all the emails i got i ended up going out with 2 of the girls, both of which showed up at the neutral meeting place being at least 30+ pounds heavier than in their photo.
both girls said their photos were from 2 and 3 years ago.
i say that was some false advertising bullshit.
they said if they were to send me their real photos i wouldn't have gone out with them... well... YEAH! bullshit. haven't done it since.
