small logo competition

here's a novel idea:
hire a fucking freelancer.
why put a bunch of people thru the paces of designing a logo for this carrot on a stick of $200?
hire a freelancer who's got a style you like, and then work with him to produce a logo, it'll waste quite a bit less time and effort, on everybodies part, than trying to pimp everybody on the internet to do it.
You, as a successful graphic designer, should know that it takes a bit of work to come up with a decent logo... hell, you're running this competition because you don't have the time for it, so why would you waste the time of EVERYBODY on the internet by posting up some crappy contest to enter into?
You're not providing an opportunity to young designers. You're asking them to front out their best ideas for the CHANCE at a weak ass wage. Which effectivly reduced the val,ue of their worth to $0 +$200 for one of them. How can you sell a product or service that is available for free?
Wouldn't it make more sense to have ONE designer work on a logo for a guaranteed wage of $200? it would certainly save a lot of other people the bother.
i can understand not having a big budget, i do work for small budgets all the time, but I just can't comprehend why you would ask SOOO many people to do the work of one, and then only one lucky one will get the prize...
it's, infact, so wasteful that it makes me wonder about the legitimacy of some of your other statements.

"hint of sarcasm"

well, i must say that the precedent behind your contest has put me in a bad mood...
I'd really be interested to hear an explaination of why you chose to ask dozens of people to compete for a prize, rather than to pay a designer who produces good work and has a style that the client is looking for, to do it.
it absolutely blows me away...
please, I'm obviously out of the loop, enlighten me.
as for whether I'm in or not:
approach me as a designer with a work for pay project, and I'll look at it.
ask me to enter a competition, and I'll give you the finger.

i wont get it into it with you monNom i dont fight trough the keyboard

ill put it bluntly to you. your in? good, we got quite a few already, your not in, its not for you, move on! you dont like it, look me up at who-is, find my address and get your ass kicked. other than that shut the fuck up!

so am I to take it that you like wasting peoples time?
- monNom0
you know, another good time waster would be to advertise a job opening, and then interview and compile a huge list of peoples names... but not give them any work.
or how about this:
You select the people furthest away from you and say you're "really interested" and ask them to come in for an interview... if by chance you get some body to show up, make him wait in the reception area, then have your secretary inform him that the position is no longer open.that would be fucking hilarious! am i right!?!
I don't want to fight, I'm just looking for a simple answer:
why a contest?
