    here's a novel idea:

    hire a fucking freelancer.

why put a bunch of people thru the paces of designing a logo for this carrot on a stick of $200?

hire a freelancer who's got a style you like, and then work with him to produce a logo, it'll waste quite a bit less time and effort, on everybodies part, than trying to pimp everybody on the internet to do it.

You, as a successful graphic designer, should know that it takes a bit of work to come up with a decent logo... hell, you're running this competition because you don't have the time for it, so why would you waste the time of EVERYBODY on the internet by posting up some crappy contest to enter into?

You're not providing an opportunity to young designers. You're asking them to front out their best ideas for the CHANCE at a weak ass wage. Which effectivly reduced the val,ue of their worth to $0 +$200 for one of them. How can you sell a product or service that is available for free?

Wouldn't it make more sense to have ONE designer work on a logo for a guaranteed wage of $200? it would certainly save a lot of other people the bother.

i can understand not having a big budget, i do work for small budgets all the time, but I just can't comprehend why you would ask SOOO many people to do the work of one, and then only one lucky one will get the prize...

it's, infact, so wasteful that it makes me wonder about the legitimacy of some of your other statements.
