The guy who stole my bike while I was in the gym from 8-9am. It was locked to a post.

I used to ride this bike, because it's an old everyday bike and I didn't expect it to get stolen.

Now, some asshole probably sells it for 30 bucks, just to buy some drugs.

Another reason to not wanting to live in Frankfurt anymore...

    • fuck, man :(
Sorry :(... I've had the same shit occur more than once (fuck Frankfurt, fuck St. Louis, fuck Chicago and FUCK, PHOENIX!!!) 3x to me in 25 yrs

    • It was the first time for me, so I may be lucky.SimonFFM
    • let's hope it was stolen to buy some foodimbecile
    • ^ no one steals a bike to buy foodSimonFFM
    • Half the bikes I owned were stolen. This possibly dates back to the 60s. I grew up on Long Island, NY, in a nice neighborhood and 3 were stolen. All were lockedCyBrainX
    • I've lived in Manhattan for 22 years and have had 3 more stolen. They were all locked too. I work remotely now and I keep the new bike in a locked bike room.CyBrainX
    • ^ my new bike is locked in our cellar; my everyday bike which isn't even sexy got stolen, so stupid. 6 stolen ones is tough.SimonFFM
    • simon, ignorant statement, but whatever. my point was... https://www.youtube.…imbecile
    • 3 stolen bikes here, feel your pain. What kind of lock do you use?garbage
    • Locks don't stop everyone. Any bike can be stolen. The most overlooked theft prevention is a locking system for the wheels and seat.CyBrainX
    • They can still cut any lock but they're way less likely to steal something that can't have the wheels or seat removed.CyBrainX
    • Oh I know. I've got some basic lockpicking skills under my belt for pentest reasons.garbage
    • I run a KryptoLok S2, and it's probably the best weight to safety that I have found. I've gotten bored and tried to pick it and haven't yet.garbage
    • But your point stands: any power saw will be able to brute force it in 10 minutes or so.garbage
    • Better to have ridden and lost, than never ridden at all..slappy
    • @garbage A power saw can do it in a few seconds. I once stole back my own bike. It's a long story but it was the best vengeance I ever had in my life.CyBrainX
    • lol, I'm sure it was. Cut time on my lock is long enough for me to notice, but bike thieves are notoriously inventive.garbage
    • There's somebody around here that finds a locked-up bike, and adds their own lock to it. Then presumably waits for the owner to come back..garbage
    • ..not be able to get their bike, and when they leave in frustration opens their lock and breaks the other.garbage
