Started out my morning with a soft rejection from an agency after 3 interviews. "We found a way to cover our production needs with existing resources, " they said, "Check back at the top of the year. We'd love to possibly see you first quarter."

Then, holy shit i just got the email from Interscope Records. The budget for a project I bid on last week has been approved and we shoot this Sunday. Time to bust my ass for the rest of the week preparing. This is going to be my biggest, most expensive music video production in my portfolio. I am thrilled! What a rush!

I'm really hoping this leads to some great commercial work next year. It will definitely lead to more music videos (it's been a few years).

And then, a different large agency reached out today for a Senior Content Producer position. "Would you consider relocating to Austin late next year?" You mean to a place where houses are actually affordable? Yes! Can't wait to have that conversation.

I've got to remember to keep my head up. When one door closes, another door or two opens.

    • Just a month ago, I was basically fired for not performing well in a sales role in production of all things during a pandemic when everything was shut down.shellie
    • When I got that job in February, I literally got the corona virus in Seattle during my interview and struggled with side effects of that for 6 months.shellie
    • I felt so defeated when that shit fell apart. I didn't even want to post about it. It was all bad. So I was like account side is not for me. Back to production.shellie
    • But I also spent a lot of years wallowing in a bad relationship that ruined my business and took me out of the game. I was having trouble reentering the market.shellie
