Basically the national guard and these armed groups (civilians) are roaming the streets threatening the people, damaging cars, etc.
They don't want the people on the streets protesting and they use these tactics.
- yeah i don't think those tactics are working, at all. Looks more like a revival gang.akrok

Incredible how police shoot over unarmed people...
- The situation in Ukraine is completely different.oey
- in what respect are they different?hotroddy
- in Ukraine they are shooting each other. both sides have guns. and the motivation is the hatred for russia.oey
- in Venezuela you see police shooting at unarmed students. it's a revolt against their land's authority.oey
- i know this is short. sorry. we could go on. but honestly I'm too tired right now.it's 6am and I'm still working between this.oey
- both situations are fucked up. pretty fucking heavy. Venezuela is not a war zone like it's written in 19F.oey

The Mother of a Venezuelan friend of mine, who lives here in Amsterdam, was attacked and robbed the day before those three people died in the protest.
She was coming from work, she's a doctor in a hospital, when three guys on motorbikes assaulted her and beat her up.
They almost broke her leg and hit her with a machine gun in the ribs and broke some.
He wants to go there to visit his Mother but she tells him not to go or he'll probably won't come back from there.
He doesn't know what to do and is very anxious about all this.
He feels impotent and despaired.
In the middle of this he has to keep on going with his life with all what's happening in mind.
I can't imagine being under such pressure and have such thoughts in my head.
I visited him two days ago at work and he was totally immersed in searching in the internet someone who could tell him anything directly from there.
He told me Twitter had been "shut down" the other day and independent news sources were having difficulties to put anything out.
He also told me that the day any of the kids from the slums gets hit and dies then the drug lords and everybody in these hoods would come down on the protests and then there would be nasty shit going on.
The day people feel that their lives aren't worth anything they'll stop respecting life and then it'll be chaos.- :( so intense and scary. good wishes for your friend.sea_sea

Georges is Canadian, he just don't understand

- FYI, these students are just ordinary youngsters, fed up of beign ignored, underesrimated and lied by their government. This is the way the authorities try to shut them up.maquito
- This is the truth ablut the mechanism used by this government to shut them up and move slong with corruption....maquito
- Not to say that the country is absolutely under control of the media and of what we get to know and believe.maquito
- the media right now is self censored mate, the government has complete media control nowernexbcn

Que mierda esto la puta que lo pario...
Como uruguayo me siento triste e indignado.
Best luck to our venezuelan brothers.

george I know your canadian and it's easy to misrepresent what happening to Venezuela as socialism. Canada may be socialist but it respects private property and freedom of expression. Venezuela on the other hand.....well list is too long to for a post

The bottom line is that Venezuela has been turned into a new Cuba. There is now food rationing and the people cannot get nutrients. At times waiting an entire day just for a bottle of milk and a loaf of bread. There is starvation because the communist loser has implemented food rationing on the people. The elections were rigged. People were thrown out of opposition polling places, at times beat up and murdered by the infiltrator Cuban military. They infiltrate opposition marches to murder people then blame it was the opposition. Fidel Castro is the one who is running Venezuela but people are getting tired of communist oppression. Enough.

[tech rant]
we have to thank the development of technology though, 10 years ago they could have done all these shit without a single video ever landing online, imagine what it will be in 15 years with protesters equipped with google glasses or other gizmos..- yes. lets thank that development together. everybody holding hands together and 3, 2, 1...THANKS!oey
