The government likes to keep that twilight zone dollar of 6.30 around so they can brag that venezuelans have the highest salary of South America, when it's bullshit. No one can buy dollars at that rate.
Minimum wage is currently 5622 BsF, if you divide that by the bullshit 6.30 dollar that would be 892 USD.
BUT, if you convert it to the real world, using the black market rate, the "highest salary in south America turns out to be 30 fucking dollars.
That's the current state of affairs.
- ernexbcn0
^ that's crazy indeed, using the lowest official dollar rate that is, which is 6.30 BsF per dollar.
The black market dollar is at 188 BsF, if you divide the price by this one the price becomes reasonable and more adjusted to reality. But then again Venezuela goes against reality.

With the oil price crashing, they are in some trouble.

It's their fault. All of them.

This is really shocking. None of this is covered on German news at all. I had no idea.
All the best everyone in Venezuela!
