Just read the reddit post and this paragraph just me all excited.
<SPOILER ALERT BELOW>
Luke has come to the conclusion that the Jedi are not meant to be an open, quasi-police force like they were in the prequels. He has a close connection to the living Force, and he believes balance must be maintained through a lack of interference in the mundane conflicts of the galaxy. Luke’s contention is that the Jedi, while still needing to promote peace, order, and harmony, cannot actively become servants for any government – including the Republic. Past events and the demise of the old order are said to have taught him that.

The Ancient Fear? That's as uninspired as Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones.

Im sure a lot of these spoilers will end up being wrong, people constantly making stuff up, but I think I should avoid reading some of these deeper story elements that ppl are coming out with.
I dont mind seeing things like what characters look like, ships, blabla, but spoiling the entire story will ruin this a bit for me.

I've not put a ton of thought into the new movies, but I really hope that they're not so drastically different from 4, 5, 6 like 1, 2, 3 were. It will just be gross if the next one harkens back to styles of 1,2,3, all the super aerodynamic stuff, technology that didn't exist in A New Hope.
I'll be thrilled if they pay as much attention to the right continuity of visual aesthetic following Jedi as they do telling a good story.

o Flag as inappropriateHave you even served with the Imperial forces? Sure it's easy to take potshots from your military blog in some no-name star system while the fleet and its legions fight the rebel insurgents, but combined space/air/ground operations are a lot messier than any infographic could ever portray.
Even with the Empire's full spectrum dominance of the battlespace, you can't just leverage fleet assets which are optimized for ship-to-ship combat into a large scale ground invasion force. A Star Destroyer might have more firepower than the entire militaries of less advanced worlds but you still need a proper ground assault ship to support infantry landings.
Unfortunately, the do-nothing blowhards in Coruscant couldn't get funding for the promising alternative designs from Sienar Fleet Systems and we ended up (as usual) with Kuat Drive Yards' overpriced, overdue, and underperforming AT-AT mess.'

An Ancient Fear is just rumored to be the working title. The movie is over a year from release. That could very easily change.

I dont doubt he can make a good SW movie. I guess im talking about the look of it. Dont you expect it to look a lot like those new ST movies?

All of the subtitles are purposely hokey though, arent they? I always thought Lucas was kinda trying to go for those old serials subtitles which were usually pretty corny.
The Empire Strikes Back? That name is famous and works because the movie is good, but the name is kind of silly. An Ancient Fear isnt any worse than that if that is what the title ends up being.
- ANH and ROTJ weren't hokey.i_monk
- Return Of The Jedi? Kind of a corny name.CygnusZero4
- Remember tho... It was originally Revenge of the Jedi... they changed it to something more cheerfulprophetone
- No, they changed it because revenge is not something a Jedi seeks.ETM

I didnt know someone else was doing star trek 3. Which I guess makes me wonder even more why JJ only signed on to do 1 star wars movie. If he didnt have star trek 3 lined up, what more important does he have going on other than this or star trek? Im guessing he will be involved in star wars 8 and 9 since hes like the new lucas n shit i guess
- Maybe he just doesn't want to spend the next decade doing only SW and ST.ETM
