We're defending the right for someone to take another's life. Not if the kid was good. Like I said, you have a very narrow view.

A bloke like Zimmerman starts following me and I'd be worried he was going to mug/murder me. If someone came up to me out of the blue and asked me what I was doing, without identifying themselves as police, I'd tell them where to go.

- A legal citizen's arrest would imply the cops are looking for him to arrest.ETM

Has anyone seen a report on what Zimmerman did as a job/career outside this volunteer work? Just curious. It's been said he studied 4 years of criminology or criminal justice.

Boy, I used to think you were bringing a fair balance to the conversation. But with this whole thing where you keep calling Zimmerman a town watchman who was issued a gun... it makes me realize that you may not be even entertaining the facts that are deemed accurate to date and have been reported for a month. It's been stated many times he was a volunteer on a neighbourhood watch committee - self appointed commander, in fact. Not an employee of any kind, the gun was his personal weapon (though licensed). It's understood that many in the community did not know he even carried it. And now the community association is under the possibility of a lawsuit as they are considered to hold some responsibility in his actions.
- The community lawsuit is recent speculation, not reported fact though. Just to clarify.ETM

More bout Zimmerman:
"His prior contacts with the law would have given police agencies pause.
In 2005, according to an arrest report, a state agent arrested Zimmerman for battery on a law enforcement officer and obstructing justice. According to the report, agents with Florida’s Alcohol Beverage and Tobacco division were arresting several employees near the University of Central Florida.
Agent Paul Fleishman wrote that Zimmerman walked up to a pal under arrest and began chatting, refusing to leave. Zimmerman cursed him, Fleishman wrote, before pushing him and causing a “short struggle.”
The charge was later dropped when Zimmerman entered a “pre-trial diversion” program, which is not unusual for first-time offenders. The program usually entails paying fines and taking classes for anger management."
Before the case was resolved, he was also involved in a domestic dispute with his ex-fiancée, hair salon employee Veronica Zauzo.
Zauzo claimed Zimmerman was trolling her neighborhood to check on her. At her apartment, they spoke for about an hour when she asked him to leave. He asked for some photos and paperwork and she refused.
A pushing match ensued and her dog jumped up and bit him on the cheek, Zauzo claimed. Zimmerman, in a petition filed the next day, painted her as the aggressor, wanting him to stay the night.
“She accused me of going to another woman’s house or going to party,” wrote Zimmerman, who said Zauzo slapped, clawed and choked him."

We won't need these discussions any more.

well if he was hired by the town, said town better expect a civil suit and shellout serious cash. better believe they are gonna distance themselves. from whati hear dude was 'self-appointed' so if he was ever paid a dollar, he is fucked in a civil suit.
- He wasn't hired by the town. He was a community volunteer.ETM

If Zimmerman was black he wouldn't be asking a white kid what he was doing there, pursuing him and threatening him....
- He might have actually. He was a town watchman. We just don't know so dont assume he's racist.CygnusZero4

If Zimmerman was black this would be a non-story!

I can be pissed off about this. Listen to the 911 tape. At one point Trayvon is walking away and Zimmerman says "awh man, they always get away..." then starts following after him in what sounds like a brisk pace based on the wind noise in the phone. This was AFTER he was told not to follow him. AND, to say they "always get away"? Talk about guilty until proven innocent.
- Told by the 911 dispatcher who said police were on the way.Josev
