Ooh, the things they get up to. They must be daft.

Kinda sucks to see videos like this because it gets viewed completely out of context. I know what the media will say and what most people feel when viewing it in the comforts of your home or at work, but man... think for a second of what these guys face day in and day out, the stresses of the real possibilities of never... coming home...seeing your wife...seeing your kids, the battle that ensued just before this video was taken, the possibility that these dead guys killed/injured one or a few of their fellow comrades, and that they are 18-25 years old. War is not pretty, war is not normal, war is not meant to be viewed out of context. Actions of these soldiers will undoubtedly be ridiculed and questioned by everyone in the media, but think for a second of what may go through your heads if you were in a situation that we as a country put these guys in? Apologies for the long windedness, but felt moved to stand up for these guys... not for their actions, but for their situation that they find themselves in... that most of us cannot even come close to imagine.

@bobkat- It's very simple. Did you see the events that transpired immediately before the beginning of this video... have you seen what these Marines have had to endure day to day... have you seen what they have seen... all of their experiences have led up to this video which you are now watching out of context- thats how.

Get off the grass...if you piss on a corpse, you're proving that when all is said and done, you're close to being a savage as well.
And don't start with the "well the Taliban have done this and the Taliban have done that". If you're better than them, how about showing it.

@handle - I understand that they go through horrific ordeals. Not denying that at all. And maybe it says more about the military not looking after the mental health of soldiers on the ground than the actions of these men. And the media will certainly take this and run with it - cos it sells.
But there is no excuse for what they are doing. It is wrong.

I dont in any way say that this is becoming of a Marine and definitely not something to grandstand with, but it's easy to make a quick judgement and say that these guys are fucked up American soldiers and they should be reprimanded etc... and walk away without trying to figure out why this happens because it does happen, and I'm sure it has happened a lot more times without cameras around to record it; in this war and many wars before it.
This is a behavior that happens when a perfectly good person has to do and experience extreme situations and has to find a way to deal. None of you can say how you would behave if you had to deal with the same shit. Strange behaviors show up in all areas in which people have to deal with death.
Just stop and think if you had to deal with the stresses of almost meeting your mortality, killing of another human being, watching your buddy die, etc.

Let's say its your friend or family they are peeing on. Still gonna cut them some slack because of job related stress?
These "Taliban" have families too, I know that's hard to imagine when you get swept up in the patriotic moment of watching Marines pee on a corpse.
