Gentlemen,
My office just received a resume + portfolio from someone who lifted half the images directly from my krop page.
Any thoughts on how to proceed ?
- locustsloth0
Tell them to hire him and then throw him out a window on his first day
- NONEIS0
This exact same thing happened to me in my second year, proceed lightly, but firmly. Clearly notify whomever they currently work for of the discrepancy, see what happens...

Ask to see his fridge (make up some artsy bullshit reason why) and then proceed to shit in it
- akrokdesign0
lol. smart guy.

Is your own integrity being called into question as a result?
- BuddhaHat0
He was just doing some R&D in preparation for his application...
In this case, R&D = Rob & Duplicate.

i do have all his contact info, i mean the works....

I would suggest talking with your bosses and letting them handle it, first. I don't know what laws are like where you are, but dealing with it yourself (right now) could have some negative legal implications from a privacy POV, by virtue of the fact the CV was directed at your agency, not you personally.

- so what if directed at agency. thief was caughtjonffanak
- Because going rogue could put both xcarlx and his employer in an awkward position.Continuity

Don;t say anything, let them call him for an interview and if you are present, present all evidence (your work and his) and ask for an explanation. On his way out tell him...
'I did this for your own good and I hope you learned the lesson. Now you have 1 day to take down all my stuff before i proceed legally.' oh... and 'Have a great day!'
These fuckers need to be stopped... I'm seeing this more and more, just here, we've had at least 10 cases... most of them think they are slick and getting away with this shit because nobody confronts them.
- OSFA0
And, if you are not present, make sure you let your bosses know the day of the interview. So that they ask him/her for an explanation. Believe you me, the fucker will learn not to do that ever again.

Implications, shmimplications. He's running around town devaluing your work, and needs to be dealt with.
I think it would be fair in this situation to follow up on his application on your own saying "hi, this is Carl from Studio ___," and simply let him know you are onto him. Make it clear that unless he ceases this practice immediately you'll have no choice but to a) contact a lawyer b) alert your friends at other agencies to this matter.
- ukit0
Or simply contact a lawyer, you may well have a pretty serious lawsuit now that I think about it.
He's doing real damage to your reputation by using your work like this. Next job you apply to might well think you are the plagiarist.
- mydo0
don't call a lawyer. the world needs less of that.
invite him in for a job interview.
in a remote car park.
at 1am.
where under a single flickering street lamp sits 1 rusted chair.
with a photo of one of your projects. face down.
with a small note saying. " take a seat and wait bitch "then shoot out the street lamp.
put on your night vision.
and attack him with a scalpel taped to the end of a broom stick.- YesItalianStallion

I think the topic opener is playing an elaborate scheme where he is trying to steal someone else's designs and is now discrediting the poor sod before stealing his wife, life and golden retriever.
