Well Nick
Art for me is something that one off. I have hard time thinking that photo as art.

Khurram... that's called making a living. slap slap slap.
janne76 it's usually the reverse for me... the trolling gets heavier.
chossy... I think this is what has totally confused me... in the 80's I looked a pop art and one thing was clear that the artists I was looking at had a very specific visual style. Yet people keep bringing this up... maybe I've got it all wrong... but I thought working toward an identifiable visual style was something you wanted to achieve.
someone brought up Robert Hodgin's work... while Robert jumped from Flash to Processing to Java to now C++ hit his Flickr page... and every image is undeniably Robert whether that work was create in any of the aforementioned technologies.
style is OK - I'd say it's the ultimate achievement but I'll try not to make this personal.
just because it's new... doesn't mean it's the best... if you can kill it in HYPERcard... kill it in HYPERcard.

I have not seen anything other than weird melty clocks and dreams by dali, fucking one trick pony hack. He should have moved on like a motherfucker instead of conning all those people into liking something which he found joy in doing what a prick.

The criticism seems a bit too personal. I simply think Josh doesn't fit in with CR's ideas of what a designer should look and sound like...
I know we all have to big our work up, but sometimes there is little more to it than making pretty pictures. Purely aesthetic, purely subjective. But CR love the "added value" side of design, sometimes trying to intellectualise it more than is necessary.
CR can be a bunch of pretentious twats sometimes.

Yeah but he's become well pretentious withit, like it's all deep and that cos its "computer generated", like it wouldn't make a difference if he'd just used spirograph, and he's jsut doin the same thing he wuz 10 years ago it hasn't moved on like you know how Cool Herc started cross-fading and that. It's just like that. So i agree with it. What he said.

I like him for his sincerity. It's easy to be cynical, and hard to be honest and sincere. I wish I had that trait.

being able to make a living doing what you enjoy, whether it's art or providing a service is my definition of success.
and in this short life, not many of us have yet acheived that kind of success.
on a side note, i'm pretty sure if the guy at CR was writing this story about his son or a friend, it would have had a different tone. it's far too easy to disrespect those we've never met which is sadly a common human trait.
