"Dyson’s neoliberal cheerleading was followed by the juvenile, whooping intro of interactive designer Joshua Davis. As he bounced around the stage professing a love for skate boarding, skydiving and tattoos, it seemed as though TYPO Berlin had been hijacked by the worst kinds of American. Davis’s zeal and gags quickly won over the crowd, though the work reminded me why his Praystation website is no longer one of my bookmarks. Created by software algorithms, the stills betrayed their stale, technocratic origins. This generative ‘art’ seemed better suited to screensavers or abstract desktops than canvases – a fact confirmed by Davis’s own Reflect app for the iPhone."

That IS funny...not sure why he would even bother responding to posts like that.

So anyone know how much Mr Praystation commands for one of his speaking engagements?

I like his work, some people seem to get really worked up about it though, weird.

I dont really get into shepard faireys work but I dont feel angry that hes doing well with it.

I didn't think what the guy said in the article was so off base. He's a critic/ columnist and he gave his opinion. A little snarky maybe but fuck it, that's his job, to say what he likes and doesn't like.

the comments section is where all the action is.

". but let me ask you... if what I do is so easy... why am I one of only a few doing it ? If what I'm doing has brought me a great portfolio of clients... speaking at conferences around the world, each month, since 1999... write ups in magazines... and if it is truly so easy... and I'm not really a good designer... then how have I fooled everybody for so long ? What am I going to do ?... because just last month I got an e-mail from WACOM... seems I've fooled them too. I just finished a cover for Computer Arts Magazine... the cover.... what fools... seems like I've fooled them to.

please e-mail me the answers Holli... please. If I'm such a horrible designer and a complete egotistical asshole... how have I been able to CON people for so long... and the next thing I want answered is... if it's so easy and has brought me success... then why isn't everybody doing it ? seems like an easy road to fame and fortune."
