He was so close to getting his shit together from hitting rock bottom.
The episode boils down to 3 scenes.
1 - Feye is his path to salvation from his past. Sticking with her would mean facing reality and basically eliminating his don draper persona.2 - When he tells the secretary she makes him feel how he's always wanted to feel. Basically she is a replacement for Betty but without the selfish craziness. No questions about the past, life with her is about the present and future.
3 - when he tells his partners:
"she makes me very happy... and well its something we both want very much"He hit the nail on the head with that one. Thats all he's thinking about. he loves being Don, he loves that she loves him for being Don.
Im not really disappointed in his decision, but if he was gonna do that why didnt he get a hotter fucking chick like rogers girl!! estuped!!!

- Nice insights.seed
- He has faced his past, ie. didn't lie to his kids about his name on the wall. Faye loves him, but she'd be a pain in the long run.raf
- no he didnt. he told 2 kids he goes by dick. thats not facing your past. lolsofakingbanned
- Feye would be a pain because she would make him really face his past. life of truth or lie. he picked liesofakingbanned

"Fake dinner plans, with your fake husband?"
Maybe Don's met his match?
- maybe he's met the female version of himself.zenmasterfoo

First ep of S7 - pretty much a regular relationship period drama show now - absolutely nothing to do with advertising...
I'm still gonna watch as i truly want to see how it ends... but as for any credibility to the world of advertising in the 60s/70s - thats pretty much long gone....

They're signed on for six seasons, right? Don't think that'll happen. Don't think it would cause ripples if they found out who he really was. I think Roger will accept it, he's a WWII vet, and Burt is probably going to die soon anyways.

Finally this show is getting the respect it deserves! I feel like the guys in the thread below should all apologize or something : ) http://www.qbn.com/topics/437510…

Actually Burt already knows. Pete told him back in Season 1 or 2 or something.

All I'm saying is that everybody is hyping this show, and it's a soap opera. And I don't really care about your deep points...

Watched last night. Wow, Don's character is a bit darker this season. I am loving this season so far. The look on Don's face when Peggy called him Don was priceless.
...and speaking of Peggy, was that a dream or was Don really there in the hospital with her? Does he know about the kid?
- i'm pretty sure he was there. she repeated that line in the car after picking up bobbie & him.Chief
