Dear tyranical police state of america,
please have some common sense and discover why strong-arming people will not ever work.
if you cross anywhere in the world, take your chances, but they are your chances. but to forcibly bring someone to the ground because of it? you have got to be fucking kidding me...

I jaywalk all the time. People have to be smart about it, and it helps to be in an area that doesn't focus its attention on that "offense".

I'd like to disassociate myself from the rest of the fear mongers, pls.

Good thing he didn't litter or he'd be at Guantanamo right now...

I imagine the guy sitting in the pokey surrounded by killers, rapists, and other ne'er-do-wells. An enormous thug of man says to the bi-spectacled and bruised Brit, "Whatchoo in fo', whitey?"
The man slowly raises his head, a look of darkness only reserved for harvesting your everlasting soul in his eye, and replies "Jaywalking."
The other men gasp, stung, and slowly back away.

hahaah. funny.
I am from Boston where it is our God Given Right to jaywalk anytime we like. The police here don't feel it really their job to harass peeps when they are crossing a street. However, when I lived in Seattle, my gf and I came out of a convenience store at 1am, and someone came up to us trying to sell us heroin. Well, we said no politely and tried crossing the street. About halfway across, we started noticing that we were being yelled at by a cop. So, we were about talk to him about the problem we just had, and he said he didnt care. The man trying to sell us heroin is a different story for another time, and that what we just did (jaywalking) was a terrible offense against society, and that we were going to be issued tickets and a court date! WTF? Cant these cops get their priorities straight?
The dude in the above mentioned story was just trying to cross the street in Atlanta. Aren't violent crimes on the rise in this country? Why were there 5 or 7 cops there arresting him for jaywalking? WTF?????????? Get a life!

(Jan 11 07, 11:32)This attitude is how Hitler took Germany.
- version30
a law is a law, true and tattle taling about some drug dealer shouldn't distract the cop from what he actually saw you do. maybe if you would become a heroin addict, you wouldn't want to cross the street, why don't you get your priorities straight? ;)

lol. What a calamity.
Could they have just stopped the guy and warned him? Law enforcement attracts the worst people.

(Jan 11 07, 11:35)it didn't last that long, so whats the problem? didn't he spur an war effort in america that brought us out of a recession/depression? that can only be viewed as good
- mrdobolina0
//make that statement to e-pill and he will ignore you.
- groundst0
Not the same; however, just as bad.
The point of this exercise is to illustrate how ignorant authorities are, no matter what nationality.
- johndiggity0
obviously part of the neo-con agenda.
- version30
ignorance is defined as a lack of knowledge. so i feel your statement is gravely mistaken.
it is their detailed knowledge of the law that allows them to make the decisions they do.
and to consider the circumstances that he 1. was breaking a law. 2. was given warning 3. did not obey a direct order from an officer, i don't really mind what happened
ones own ignorance of the law is no excuse.
and to berate an officer doing his job in another country and calling it news in yours is pretty far fetched to say the least
- mrdobolina0
the guy gets his ass kicked for jhaywalking and people defend it.
what the fuck is happening in this country?
