(Sep 13 05, 10:29)So if you believe in evolution it was funny? I believe in Evolution and thought it was boring.
Jon Stewart needs to get funny agian. Latly he tries too hard to be deep and make a difference and then he says some lame joke at the end.
He was better when he was just funny.
- mrdobolina0
nah, I thought it was funny. make your own jokes if you dont like his.

Yeah, I agree. He's acting way too much like a politician, and not enough like a comedian.
And the next time I laugh at a piece Samantha Bee or Ed Helms does, it will be the first time. Ugh, those pieces are painful.
Daily Show, please get funny again.

I live in Chattanooga, TN
30 minutes from Dayton, TN.. where Ed Helms did his package from..
trust me.. it's that bad.. it's a scary little town..
my girlfriend grew up there for a while.. glad she got out when she did..

uh oh... what did i miss?
- discipler0
ah ok. Just watched it. Nothing new. He's jumping on the same band wagon as Bill Maher and the others. "It's something that republicans are behind, so let's poke fun at it regardless of the real data and make it a political and religious issue instead of an old science vs. good science issue... etc...". And, like the others, he makes the mistake of lumping I.D. into the same category as pagan creation myths.
It's all in fun though and hopefully intelligent people aren't watching his show to glean scientific truth from it. ;)

discipler, nah. It's just a ludicrous concept, teaching ID along with Evolution.
This is why "Flying Spaghetti Monster" was created. To poke fun at ID. Because if one dumb-shit idea is good enough to teach, why not all the other ones?
- discipler0
More on the spaghetti monster:

(now don't you feel silly?)no fate, in reality it's an issue of people content in their blissful ignorance who don't want to take the time to learn the truth about an important scientific issue.
Teach all the other what? Intelligent Design theory only claims to detect design in biological systems. It's what science observes. Hmm, maybe you should learn about these issues before appearing foolish.

I feel better now that I out discipler on ignore. Gimme that old time religion with fire, brimstone, and fear. Fuck you discipler, even if you are a troll.
- discipler0
ah, there's tolerance and insightful commentary I've come to know and...

I think I'm going to start plugging my fingers in my ears when I hear someone i don't agree with too! Sounds productive, eh?

'pagan creation myths..' are exactly what ID is one of..
The notion that certain aspects of the processes of biology are unknowable to us, and are the selective work of a hidden hand..
which telepathically guides each molecule in each organism into place, on each occaision that the chemistry required is somewhat slightly above our current understanding of.
Its seems to start somewhere above the simpler reactions, such as enzyme manufacture and action, gets kinda shaky towards proteins, and downright mysterious at the genetic level - thats fine though - the big G, in hir ultimate wisdom thought it would be far better to leave hirself a little hobby once the world was up and running, namely missing out those sections of life-bearing processes that could be handled by the mechanics of electronegativity, osmosis etc so that He would have to intervene to keep things running. Doesnt sound like the most omnipotent and omniscient approach to creation, but what do I know ?
Even given that this creator is not contrained by linear time in the same way we mortals are, it still adds up to a heck of a lot of work, trillions and trillions of apparantly impossible reactions per second, and thats just on the one world we know about..
In all honesty, I think were he to build the universe again, creating a systematic chemistry, perfected for automated production of living systems; one that did not require constant tinkering from behind the veil of maya, would be preferable.
Maybe next time, eh ?*hey Discipler :) !! waves..

discipler is a textbook case of latent homosexuality. ...i'm not judging, but he is.
- fate_0
Discipler, it's just silly, man. It's the "God in the gaps" application to things we don't fully understand.
But eventually, we'll run out of gaps for God to fill. Just a matter of time.
- mikotondria20
ah no...discpler's cool, hes always a perfect gent and I enjoy his posts and discussions..
*is he looking at me ?? is he?

Randoman has taught me that there are far, far worse people to get worked up over than just people I disagree with.
